Sounds like a pac10 replay official is making the calls here.... ;)

I'd hope that the bowl officials have the WAC or MWC or B12 conference officials calling the game. BC can't be that stupid to let Pac10 officials call a game against the darlings of the Pac10. At the very least, this replay official has a VERY high standard of INDISPUTABLE video evidence.

Would I be a cynic for wondering if he is stepping down because Tebow won't be back?

Would I be a cynic if I connected the several references to faith and family to possibly mean there is a Tiger issue at the root of this...and I don't mean Auburn.

LSU?

Yes you would be.

I remember hearing reports about Meyer going to the hospital after the SEC Champ game.

Re: College Football 2009: Where Championships are won by a majority vote

The replay booth was awful tonight.

1) Damian Williams was not in bounds on that deep catch
2) The BC runner was not in the end zone on that TD run.
3) The guy clearly was not blocked into the football. That was BC ball.

All in all a poorly officiated game and poorly played by both teams.

That's so unlike you...you usually say such complimentary things about the officiating. :p

Yes you would be.

Are you surprised that some people might be a little suspicious of Meyer's reasons for stepping down?

Re: College Football 2009: Where Championships are won by a majority vote

Brian Kelly would like the Notre Dame players to know that they will be the first to find out if he is leaving for the Florida job.

Re: College Football 2009: Where Championships are won by a majority vote

Holy crap. Just saw it on the ticker and went on here to find out if my eyes were deceiving me.

Crazy.
Yeah, and then it lead like the next half hour on Sports Center. Honestly, don't beat it to death people. Center it, put it in its proper context, and then move on to the next news story.

Didn't see one mentioning of a certain ND hire that they made "Offical" today. :(

Re: College Football 2009: Where Championships are won by a majority vote

Urban Meyer is stepping down at Florida.

He's citing ignoring his health as his reasoning for doing so.

"I saw it as a sign from God that this was the right thing to do,"

Apparently God sends you chest pains now, not burning bushes. In future, He will use your Facebook page.

Which one of Tiger's mistresses came out on that day?

I'm not saying he doesn't have a valve issue with his heart...but doctors say it isn't that serious.

Re: College Football 2009: Where Championships are won by a majority vote

Why announce it before the Sugar Bowl and not after? He's still planning to coach that game, isn't he? Why add all the melodrama to what is already a stressful week of preparation? It's the stress that's causing these heart issues in the first place.

That might have been the plan, but the way this came out sure makes it seem like it was leaked. And once it leaks, you address it with a presser.

Re: College Football 2009: Where Championships are won by a majority vote

Apparently now the latest is that Meyer will step away on a leave of absence for the 2010 season.

I'll believe it when I see it.

Re: College Football 2009: Where Championships are won by a majority vote

Yeah, its now being reported that Meyer will take one year off and then come back to the team. Offensive Coordinator will become interim head coach.

I'm not saying he doesn't have a valve issue with his heart...but doctors say it isn't that serious.

And maybe he doesn't want it to get that serious. It isn't like the guy has anything left to prove, he could step away now, be rich and have a pretty sweet legacy...oh and not have terrible heart issues the rest of his life.

Is it bad when athletes retire early so they don't end up vegetables when they hit 50?
