Re: College Football 2009: Where Championships are won by a majority vote

Who knows, Things will be shorted out soon enough in another week or 2.

Kelly's waiting until after the Sugar Bowl to announce the staff, because he's going to be bringing some guys from Cincinnati with him (gotta figure on Quinn as OC/OL coach, at minimum, unless he ends up with the UB head job).

Re: College Football 2009: Where Championships are won by a majority vote

I was reading Pat Forde's column on ESPN and he shared this:

Iowa State's only two victories over Minnesota came in the 19th century: 1897 and '98, to be exact. Gophers lead the all-time series 22-2-1.

That's a cool fact.

Re: College Football 2009: Where Championships are won by a majority vote

Wow, it must really suck to be historically dominated by the Gophers.

My favorite Gopher fact is that we are one of only 2 teams with 3 consecutive national titles in the last 100 years. Of course that was like '34, '35, '36.

They still count! As a Tech fan, I have to believe that dusty banners still count for something.

Well we do have one from the 60's also. So its a bit less dusty! :D

Claimed Titles: 34, 35, 36, 40, 41, 60

Yeah, but North Alabama had to go thru the Playoffs to claim their 3-peat. :p

Yeah, and rumor has it that Chuck Martin could be getting a staff job at ND, or get offered the HC spot at Central Michigan. Personally, if I had to pick my poison here, I would rather see Chuck Martin get on the Defensive coaches staff at ND than him going to CMU. That would cause us less problems with the coaching staff here at GVSU, and that we would just likely promote a coach from within the program here. Chuck goes to Central and he would be bringing more of his staff to Mount Pleasant.

I hate to see it benefit GVCC, but I think Martin will head to ND since CMU wasn't a high enough program for him to go to two years ago.

Villanova up 3-0 on Montana in the FCS National Championship game. Gotta love college football playoffs! :D

Re: College Football 2009: Where Championships are won by a majority vote

Looks good for Villanova. 23-14 with 10+ minutes left in the 4th.

It's amazing that they're able to do a playoff...it must be really hard.

Yeah, its amazing that they can do that.

Gotta love that Ceasar kid. Not a whole lot of FBS kids would give up their bone marrow for some kid.

However you say it, between him and Whitney there, they are stomping Montana here. I would have thought Montana would have been the more physical team here.

If schools keep dropping football, some of the Colonial schools will probably just step up and go Division I-A. This week I heard Villanova to the Big 10, but more than likely they would move up and join the Big East (possibly to replace a team that jumped to the Big 10).

Re: College Football 2009: Where Championships are won by a majority vote

What is Montana doing? They need two scores and there is only 1:16 left... GO DEEP

It is a thought.... Be a shame to see the CAA go under as they play some **** good ball there.

Re: College Football 2009: Where Championships are won by a majority vote

Onside kick goes out of bounds.

Villanova ball but Montana has all three timeouts.

1:00 to go. 2nd & 5

Re: College Football 2009: Where Championships are won by a majority vote

First down Szczur! Another Montana timeout.

:54 left.

Montana calls their final timeout with :51 left...two snaps and it's over!
