UCF v Rutgers at 8 ET

Pretty clear that Wyoming is going to have trouble scoring today. However their punter did pin FSU at their own 1. So Kudos to him.

It looks like the New Mexico bowl between Wyoming and Fresno State will be tied 14-14 at the half. About :30 seconds left.

Re: College Football 2009: Where Championships are won by a majority vote

Crazy that Wyoming got the first upset of the bowl season with a 35-28 2OT win over Fresno State.

Re: College Football 2009: Where Championships are won by a majority vote

Anyone else in favor of moving the FBS division national championship tournament to its own thread?

The morning before the game DHS got a call from the New Mexico Bowl logs coordinator, begging for advice on how to get a security/FAA waiver so they could release hot air balloons over the stadium for the halftime show. That's something you start processing, I dunno, about 9 months in advance.

Needless to say, they were turned down, and I assume the halftime show was impacted (some Albuquerque high school band must have gotten a midnight call, "the star is sick, you have to go on!"

McKnight's girlfriend makes payments

Schenter also said he is a University of Washington fan who has "nothing to do with agents, marketing players or representing athletes" despite his ownership of the Web domain www.4joemcknight.com, which he says has not been renewed.

"I own so many Web site domains that I only purchased www.4joemcknight.com [didn't renew] because I thought it was clever along with the many other ones I own/owned," Schenter wrote in the e-mails.

Schenter said a company he founded in May 2008, USC Marketing, stood for "United States China Marketing," and that despite being an employee for the Los Angeles County Assessor's office, he would "rather be known for my expertise in marketing and finance ventures

Hahahahahahahahahahaha.

So I'm watching UNLV/Hawaii in basketball on ESPN2 and they keep teasing Nevada/SMU tomorrow in the Hawaii Bowl.
They put up a graphic listing the records and whatnot, and have the game listed as Nevada Wolf Pack and SMU Broncos.
Oops.

See, I would expect that level of incompitance from ESPN if they were covering playoff games from D1-AA, D2 or even D3 games perhaps, but to an actual D1-A program??? Yikes!!!! They really are playing fast and loose with the facts there ain't they??

Urban Meyer is stepping down at Florida.

He's citing ignoring his health as his reasoning for doing so.

Would I be a cynic for wondering if he is stepping down because Tebow won't be back?
