College Basketball ver Do Wedzenia Krzyzewski

If you want to go to the NCAA tourney for cheap, a whole lot of folks wearing blue are currently dumping their tickets for Saturday in Pittsburgh

Seeing John Calipari lose in the 1st Round will NEVER get a tear from me. He's just as, if not more, dirty than ANY Power-5 football coach.

Short enough drive from OU to send a bunch more fans. Got a soft spot for Oakland- spent many racing Sundays on one of their parking lots. They were the only school in SE MI to let us race when I was still doing it +10 years ago. Nice bunch of people there.

Career highlight win for Greg Kampe, who has spent 40 years coaching them, going back to their D2 years. His son and I were in the same HS graduating class the last year they won an NCAA game.

Death, taxes, and Nebraska losing in the NCAA tournament are the only certainties in life.

Might not be true any longer now that the power conferences have expanded so much, but pretty sure they're still the only power conference school (SEC, ACC, PAC, BIG 10, BIG 12, BIG EAST) to have never won an NCAA tournament game. Northwestern was the only other one prior to their first win a few years back.

Yep. Nebraska is the lone "Major" school to have never won a game.

In other news, James Madison is just taking Wisconsin to the woodshed and just beating them like an Alabama step child... If JMU can continue to play this way moving forward. They are super aggressive on D and force mistakes.

So Yale can be called Idaho of the east, thanks to the Vandal Pep Band helping them upset auburn.

This is a cool thing schools do, standing in for the schools that can’t bring their band. Loved seeing that when we went to frozen fours…

20-12 after the first round. Not sure if it's my worst start ever but it's gotta be close to it. Out of the 12 losses I did have 2 of those teams going to the E8, SEC chumps Auburn and Kentucky, and Kentucky going to the FF but losing to Houston in the semis.

When I grew up in the DC area, the college basketball power was in DC (GW, Georgetown) and Maryland, with UM winning the title and even Coppin State getting an upset as a 15 seed. Now the power seems to have shifted to Virginia, with Mason and VCU getting FF runs and UVA winning it all (but also the first 1-seed to lose to a 16-seed), and JMU with their upset. Feels weird to think of VA as a basketball power in any way.

Women's tourny with a whopping 1 count em 1 first round upset.

There had been a lot more parity the last few years in the tournament, so this seemed like an abrupt return to the norm. A couple 5 over 4s and a 7 seed Duke over 2 seed OSU gave a few “upsets” yesterday at least.

I enjoyed the Stanford Iowa State womens game, lots of clutch shooting by both teams. I really wanted to see that girl that went 18 for 20 from the field the other night for Iowa St, Can't teach height but she hasn't learned many basketball moves when playing someone as tall as her. Stanfords number 44 was awesome as was Iowa States number 11.
