College Basketball ver Do Wedzenia Krzyzewski

I’ve been watching hockey but it looks like the women had a couple good ones early in the day. Gonzaga-Purdue is a close one for the men and NC State is doing their best Jimmy V impression up 13 on Marquette at half.

Holy cow, an NBA team lost by 60 tonight.

nm, it was just the Blazers:

The Heat picked up a monstrous blowout win over the Trailblazer 142-82, marking the biggest win margin in franchise history. The 60-point win was good for the second-largest win margin in the NBA this season, only behind the Oklahoma City Thunder's 62-point win, which was also over the Trailblazers.

I've never seen a team start out shooting as bad UCLA women have against LSU. Awful

Iowa vs LSU Monday night, should be a media frenzy : )

Tickets to Albany on Monday night are almost as expensive as the hockey regional in Maryland Heights.

Before she was taken out and the Buffs scored some garbage points, she accounted for more points than the entire Colorado team. She scored 29 herself, and Iowa turned her 15 assists into 33 points. Her shooting gets the headlines but some of those passes were spectacular.

Someone on Reddit who was at the Portland women’s regional noticed the three point line looked shorter on one side. He was able to get the attention of someone to ask the officials to measure and it turned out one three point line was nine inches shorter than regulation. There had already been four games played for the sweet sixteen games. Texas and NC State agreed to play with the wrong court yesterday and the NCAA says it’ll be fixed for tonight’s game between UConn and NCSU.

I’m really surprised the players didn’t notice. There is so much familiarity and muscle memory when you get to that level it seems like they would’ve felt a difference immediately. Different sport and an elite pro, but I remember Miguel Cabrera stepping out and saying the batters box wasn’t drawn correctly, and he was right. It was off by about three inches.

With 1:51 left in the 1st, Illinois and Connecticut were tied at 23. Over the next 8 and a half minutes of game play, the Huskies went on a 30-0 run. Thirty. to nothing.

Congrats Connecticut on winning back-to-back titles.

Crazy to think their only loss this calendar year was the 19-point smackdown at Creighton. Would've liked to have seen a rubber match between them, but alas it was not to be.

LSU out rebounded Iowa and had many more shot attempts yet they got smoked by Iowa. LSU stopped throwing over the tops to their bigs, not sure how Iowa stopped that as they no one who could stop it. Clark is unreal, once again her passing was the difference. Clark and Reese should take the covid year and stay in college as the game is way more fun than WNBA. I'm sure they would make more, probably enough to set them up for life.

Caitlin Clark will get to end her career in the national title game. Iowa played about as bad as they could in the first half and UConn contained Clark about as good as they could and still only had a six point lead at the break. Though they were able to start a comeback in the last four minutes and had a chance to win it before the illegal screen, being forced to only have a seven player rotation finally wore them down in the second half.

So Carolina depth makes Iowa starters look bad. Clark's turnover at end of first half is a killer.

Good game, So Carolina had way more talent, way more height and a bench that scored. Clark was gassed after the first half. Ill bet So Carolina is already favorites to win next year. Quite a run they have going.
