Colgate 22-23

Nice picture of MinnesotaWIH winning their title on front page. Nice article about Ohio State outlasting UMD to make it to the title game - yesterday.
Don’t care what the reasons are, but the delay for other recaps is annoying. Waiting 2 or 3 days after the fact to read about the ECAC, HE, or NEWHA is wrong.

Looks like Colgate plays the winner of Wisco and LIU, which will be played Thurs in Hamilton. The winner of that game plays Colgate saturday, at 3:00 PM.
And that's what it will be ! A little payback for Wisco would be nice !

Colgate web site has Saturday’s game listed at 6pm; NCAA says 3pm. I assume it’s the latter…? Badgers making 10th straight NCAA appearance. Hope we can right the ship after our playoff loss last season at home. Any guess who will start in net?

During the TV broadcast, the on-screen graphics had the Thursday game at 6 PM EST and the Saturday game at 3 PM EST. The Wisconsin web site says likewise.

We haven't played the Badgers since we beat them on their rink in double OT in the semi's in 2017-18. What a great memory which is relived often in the Women's ECAC promo ad run on ESPN+ during the games... Now a chance to do it in Class of '65 if they get by LIU. Dara's got your be psyched...

Colgate No. 3 in today’s poll, but not a single first place vote despite having the nation’s leading scorer, among other stats. It’s probably for the best and worked in our favor in 2017. Maybe it’s the gaa.

Anyone think Wisconsin may be looking past LIU and Colgate? How do we like our chances?!

LOL.

No, Wisconsin isn't looking past anybody.

They've lost this year to Penn State, to Quinnipiac, to St Cloud. They lost to Duluth three out of four. They can beat anybody in the field, and - with the possible exception of LIU - they can lose to anybody in the field. They're not looking past anybody.

They’re making their 10th straight appearance. How many titles do the Badgers have? Wisconsin has tens of thousands of students. An enormous arena with exuberant fans. Colgate is always David, not Goliath.

Tournament prediction. Sorry, ECAC. Your players just aren’t talented enough, and your League is just not competitive enough. Nice run, Colgate, Yale, Clarkson and Quinnipiac.

Just read the article. I have no idea who’s going to win any of these. There’s the likely scenarios and then there’s the not too impossible but less likely scenarios. there are great games ahead of us, best time of year in women’s sports.

the author is picking 3 Wcha teams and 1 HE team to advance. When was the last frozen four with three teams from a conference? Granted the 11 team field makes it more likely but this seems bold. To be fair I was just contemplating—— could we see 3 ECAC teams in the frozen four? Colgate and Yale are the higher seeds. Throw in the possibility of OSU getting knocked off the top of the mountain somehow… it’s not impossible. But then I said, three from one conference, no way. Apparently others disagree.

colgates on a tear. 13 goals last weekend ! My goodness. Like I say I don’t know who will advance but it will be a good one. Hope your rink is packed. The players and facility both merit it.

Last year Ohio State survived a double OT game vs Quinnipiac; and if I recall correctly, Q ring the pipe loudly during the second OT. An inch away...

(I had to look it up, Arlen could probably do it in his head: 3 WCHA teams in the final four in 2009 and 2021)

The 2009 tourney stands out because the fourth team was Mercyhurst, so no representative from either ECAC or HEA; think that's the only time that happened. I remember the earliest tournaments far better than the recent ones, and back then, 3 ECAC and 1 WCHA team was fairly common (2001, 2004, 2005). Shortly thereafter, people started to predict that HEA would supplant the ECAC as the top Eastern league, and for a while, teams like UNH, BC, and BU made that look like a possibility.

The Sinners are the biggest wild card. They probaly have the most boom or bust potential as far as what they can accomplish in the tournament.
