Coaching changes 2010 - and only coaching changes

Re: Coaching changes 2010 - and only coaching changes

It's another Monday morning and the question is still the same...Is Chatham going to be on the ice this coming season? You have to have a coach on the bench and so far, I have not heard an announcement of a coach.

The grass is not always greener....

Maybe Chatham should have been thankful for what they had given their troubles finding anyone interested in taking over.

I would assume by now there is a contingency plan in place to reschedule the remaining teams in the event they don't answer the bell.

I think as big an issue is will there be anyone left to "coach"?
If you take out the two transferees, add in the one recruit posted on BTD that leaves 11 skaters & 2 goalies.
Not nearly enough to field a team.
Feel bad for those that are left though

There are more transfers than what has been published. If I counted correctly, they will have 6 skaters, with the new girl ~ 7, and no goalies.

If these are the true numbers, no wonder they don't have a coach. Who wants to walk into this situation in the end of July.

I do know a few months back someone turned down the job (does anyone know who this was), at this point for someone to come in and save the program is going to take a genious to walk into a situation like that. Who would leave somewhere to walk into a mess this big, and potentially have no goalies come September. No coach that wants to do well, would do that. Plus the new AD, no hockey experience, how does anyone know he knows what it takes to be successful in this sport.

But then again maybe they have someone and they just aren't saying anything. If they don't and I was a player, I would be looking to get out quick before it is too late.

Unfortunately it sounds like another school that will probably settle with poor leadership again, because that is their history says there, and then in another two years they will be back in the same place.
It is really sad these teams don't put a full commitment behind the program, because the athletes really suffer.

I have heard that Yale will have a new coach by this Friday, July 16th. I've heard a couple of names as top contenders but I'm not confident in my sources.

What names have you heard. I'm anxious to find out.

I don't want to say because it may cause problems. If the person that I think they are going to hire is hired then I think you will know why I didn't say anything. Sorry for being so mysterious but I don't want to cause problems for anyone. I think the important thing is that Yale is close to hiring a new head coach.

Understood, hopefully it will be today.

Is it still all quiet on the Williams front? They lost a good goalie and a hell of a coach, next season could be a long one for them.

All I know is someone who has not applied for the position (although she would be a strong candidate!).

I see Chatham has made it onto the Elmira schedule for 1 game. so do they show up in a minivan with no coach, 7 skaters and a shooter tutor?
