Coaching changes 2010 - and only coaching changes

Re: Coaching changes 2010 - and only coaching changes

If all of the Williams athletic teams were mediocre I would agree with this comment. However, Williams is always among the top 2-3 schools in the Director's Cup rankings, based upon overall acheivement by their teams in D-III competition. Why Williams is so strong in athletics yet their women's hockey team is mired in mediocrity is a valid question.

Was not aware of that. Thanks for that info. Womens hockey is a tough sport to combine with high end academics. The season is a long one as it spans from September to March. Not too many other sports with that long of a season. Wondering if that might have anything to do with it.

Williams used to have a stronger program. Not familiar enough with current issues to say why they're where they are.

But, as one of their primary competitors and rivals, Amherst seems to be doing ok balancing women's hockey and high end academics!

Jennifer Wilson Named Women's Ice Hockey Assistant Coach

Wilson has been "around the sport her whole life,” said Donovan. “Jennifer’s had a love for hockey since she started skating in a cow barn in Wisconsin, and I’m sure she’ll pass along this passion for the sport to our players.”

Be careful... That's NOT the puck!!!
