Obviously the only reason why UNH got bounced the last two years early was due to the refs. That's always the case. UNH would be undefeated in its history if not for bad calls by the zebras.

Onion Man is not a Northeastern fan.

Fan of quite possibly Harvard.. or is it Brown?.. or both ?

I haven't personally seen the line "coasting," and I haven't asked any of them if they've tanked it. I doubt it.
I imagine, given the scoring proclivities of that unit, that they are getting plenty of attention from their opponents.
UNH wasn't touted as a well-balanced scoring team this year. But they've played great defense and have been a pleasant surprise to me.

This will be an interesting game tonight. After last night's game, Sebastian Laplante said, “They did a good job on the forecheck. We’ll look at the video and adjust before tomorrow.”
I like that, making adjustments. I know a coach who says, "We'll play our game."
Regardless, Northeastern has had a great year, lost a bunch of close games. Games with them were never gimmees, but as with Merrimack, they're nail-biters now.

I know bill, Umile has no plans of making any adjustments since he didn't say exactly that in the press conference..

oh wait, Thompson is skating with Block and Henrion and Speelman is skating with DeSimone and Sislo tonight.

Games not over yet but checking the boxscore I'm assuming the game got pretty physical...... lots of penalties

Umile did make the right call, and I also give credit to the players involved in the shuffle for being team players and giving 100%. This game gives me a good feeling going into the season finale with BC.

Very glad that UNH put in a solid 60 tonight.... they had gotten off track a bit the last few weekends and this weekend UNH took 3 pts (and only Rawlings' heroics last night kept NU from losing) and is back on track.

Nice to see Paul score twice tonight and get his goalscoring mojo going again.... :)

That was the 'letdown' gm i guess.

Rawlings (who we have been riding pretty hard) ..certainly did not have his best night. I thought he should have been pulled at 3-1 (after the Thompson goal) v/s at 5-1. I could tell he was off quite a bit.

Also discipline wise.. i thought Eibler's slash to have UNH go up on the 5x3.. just a bad bad play on our part. I don't know what he was thinking

Di Girolamo made some great saves down the stretch when NU came wtihin 2. Actually he made some outstanding saves all game. He does not look that big..far as today's goalies go.. (goes to show.. size can only help so much. Thought he played very well in goal).

Congrats to UNH.. well played & you seized all the right opportunities tonight.
Hopefully we can get back on track nxt wknd.

thanks for the classy post, northeastern. Good luck vs. BU next weekend, and by taking at least a point vs the Terriers (or by us taking at least a point vs. BC) will guarantee we won't have to play you guys in the quarterfinals which I'd be perfectly ok with, though I'm banking on a split and taking the top seed for the post season.

Props to UNH but wow did NU check out mentally tonight. No discipline and a multitude of open chances in the first period. Silva had a goal handed on a platter by McNeely, has the entire glove side open and tries to go backhand..he had another tap-in which hit the iron and MacLeod had quite a few open looks from the circles..UNH also had an open goal in the first....Rawlings also handed Thompson two goals but regardless he is dirty; I'm actually glad we lost because we got 'that' game out of the way hopefully. We were locked in for 6th anyway. Can't wait for BU weekend and then hopefully this team returns to vs. BC form for the playoffs.

It was a sloppy hockey game and the reffing was pathetic. DeSimone is such a piece of trash. Keep away you little girl, the Capitals don't need a wuss like you diving all over the place. Good thing this is the NCAA because if you pulled that crap in the NHL you would've been on your ***, and quick.
