Well, I'm not sure of the possibility of them moving into a TUC standing without it being at the expense of UNH and that would be another blow to our NCAA standing, so... I'm ok with NU staying below the TUC line at our expense ;)

They responded well Friday after a sour taste left from the previous week, lets see if UNH comes out flying on Friday night and can take the home matchup first, then play relaxed on Saturday and win in a place that they have notoriously had a tough time picking up points...

I would just add, I see a potential big let down Fri for nu playing in 3 emotional hard fought inspiring 180 plus minutes of hockey. The game I'm worried about is at Mathews on sat. Unh is only a few losses from looking on the outside. Not jumping ahead but one win against BC should be the much needed lift in the pairwise. Yes they need to take care of business in the playoffs, can't see them missing out 3 years in a row, SR class wont let that happen

They said that after the Beanpot, they said that after we tied BC 7-7 at Conte Forum. Don't buy it. They are just playing well, don't think emotion plays a part in this one, just who skates better.

I do, give them all the respect in the world but it is very difficult to sustain without a lapse, human nature, even difficult for the pro s. There is always a letdown after the beanpot, I see it every year, just so happens the teams played each other afterwards

I don't see NU having a letdown at all, I think they're on an upswing. They took a crushing one-goal loss and turned it into a wild tie, and then turned THAT into a solid two-way effort and a one goal win, all against one of the best teams in the conference. Before that, they took the other of the top 3 to overtime at home (and were responsible for one of that team's few home losses this season.) I thought NU was better than their record in all the games I saw them play this season, and I think it's time their record caught up with them.

so, when I was a senior, Walsh had to sit out a year at Maine* and the student section changed WHERE'S YOUR COACH? when Cronin walked out onto the ice with the rest of the coaching staff, I wonder if the students will pull anything off like that Friday night? I get the feeling that 99% of the students don't have any idea about it, unlike then, and obviously there's no hatred towards NU like there is towards Maine*

I think you estimate too low; 99.5% of students may be more accurate . . . 99.9 wouldn't surprise me . . .

Is it just me, or are all the UNH related threads relatively quiet this year?

Its not just you, puckfan. I just commented on the UNH at the STARTING GATE thread which is only at around 760 posts, that it was sad that UML's season thread was not far from closing out at 1k posts while the River Hawks are having one of the worst seasons in league history....

When Maine*s Diamond was suspended some Maine* fans had a FREE DIAMOND sign at the Whitt on Friday a couple of weeks ago, that was pretty funny.

Is there any word on Cronin/O'Connell? Are they still out for the weekend's games?

They will be suspended indefinately until the university completes their investigation. With the bb program already on a two year probation for recruiting violations, we will see what happens here... Roby is staying tight lipped on the issue and people who do know what's going on are just as tight lipped... So uintil further notice, Cro is suspended until the university releases a statement with sanctions and findings etc.

Just found I'm driving UNH down to the game Saturday. Hope I don't get lost. Or jinx 'em.

It's been a while since I've seen NU play, but Rawlings didn't impress me. Covers a lot of the net, but doesn't move well post-to-post. Has he improved at all?

Depends on who you talk to or which game you watch. I think that he has been very good with that (better than last year, maybe not good) but was pretty bad in the first two games against bc last week. He's played very well lately with the exception that bc put up 15 goals in 3 games (granted he did see 120 shot compared to the 74 that bc saw from us and we put 15 on them, too). It should be a fun series and hopefully a good crowd given the press that the program has gotten in the last week.

Oleksiak is gonna see a ton of playing time against the Sislo-DeSimone-Thompson line. That is UNH's top line right?

NU fans-What is the deal with Cody Ferriero? I thought he looked pretty good against UNH way back in October, but his statline is 1-1-2 in 26 games?!
