Campaign 2016 - Primary season! Duck (questions) season!

And so it begins...

U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski pulled back from an earlier position that the Senate should give a hearing to a nominee to replace the late U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, saying Thursday that President Obama shouldn’t even nominate a replacement.

Re: Campaign 2016 - Primary season! Duck (questions) season!

It's gotten to the point where the last two elections meant nothing.

Re: Campaign 2016 - Primary season! Duck (questions) season!

Looking so far like my guesstimate will be backwards. Hillary up 52-48 right now with 2/3 in.

Re: Campaign 2016 - Primary season! Duck (questions) season!

Still not an overwhelming victory by Hilary though. Wasn't the narrative she'd clean up in "not overwhelming white" states like this?

Yeah, this shows that Bernie has staying power. It's still Hillary's to lose, but it's at least a competition now.

Essentially. All the pundits seem to be saying it's the casino workers she's gone hard for this week that made the difference.

Bernie won the under 40 vote by a whole lot, and the Latinos by 8%. Lost the black vote 75-25, though.

Those Latino numbers could help Bernie in Florida, Texas, and California, though.

His hope has always been to stay around long enough that if something awful comes out about her, well, there he is.

So far:

Fox News: Hillary Clinton eeks out a win against Bernie Sanders.
MSNBC: Hillary Clinton wins, but close enough Bernie can still be happy.
CNN: Strong victory for Hillary Clinton in Nevada.

For the Republicans, exit poll information shows Trump does well with almost anyone, while Cruz is hated by moderates.

Which would be a tragicomedy, because Bernie's message is far more attuned to unions and their supposed cause than Hillary's. Just goes to show you that many unions are quasi-corporations (with a board and a president) that are in bed with their masters. I've witnessed it with the UAW for decades now.

Queue jj with his spirited defense of unions as still being "for the workers". ;)

And I'll admit, they're still important in some fields. But still, this just goes to show everyone, union leadership will only support candidates they think are winners, not necessarily candidates that are the best for them and their interests (granted, a Hillary presidency would be far better for any union than a Trump presidency).

Down goes Jeb!
Down goes Jeb!
Down goes Jeb!

Bush's beans are indeed baked. For which I think we are all grateful.

If we're really lucky, Kasich will sneak past him when the remaining half of the precincts start reporting.

He had a good organization, but a bad last name. Wonder what his people do? Smart $$ (and my prayers) hope they go to Kasich.

Re: Campaign 2016 - Primary season! Duck (questions) season!

My biggest problem with Kasich is that earlier this week on Colbert, he tried to hold the party line on waiting until Obama is out to decide on Scalia's replacement. Bad move for a guy who claims to want to "unite" the two aisles. He also mumbled something about "tax cuts" during his interview.

What does Trump do now with Jeb! gone? Destroying him seemed to be his goal and main interest from Day 1.

No argument from me on this. I think they waste far too much time and money on politics with little payoff.

....Trump is going to sweep all the delegates in the state.

See, I watched that too. I thought he looked uncomfortable the whole time spouting that line. I have to believe he had to toe the line to hold South Carolina. Which makes me both happy and sad. Happy that it makes him uncomfortable, sad that he can't bull**** better and has to stoop that low.
