Re: Campaign 2016 Part XXV: Fin

This.

I'm done feeling bad for anyone else.

If you can't get off your butt and protect your own interests or worse, vote against them, what do you want from me?

A tissue?

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XXV: Fin

As I was musing this morning after dropping my kid at school, it occurred to me that there will someday be a Donald J Trump Presidential Library.

Lol

Oh yeah, and Melania Trump will be First Lady. Did she win the life lottery or what? Of course she has to let that thing **** her, but seems worth it.

Agreed. My sympathy for others is crapping the bed. When people in Michigan complain about the water I will just ignore it. When people in Wisconsin tell me how their education system is going broke and the economy is tanking I will just point to the fact that they had a chance to stop all this and chose not to. When the Southern states are broke and have no health care or safety net to help them, I will look the other way. And so help me god if one flipping BernieBro says something to me...

No one I know liked Clinton that much...but everyone voted for her over the alternative.
I feel like I'm gonna be saying "I told you so" a lot.

Working with a coworker right now who is ecstatic. White Baby Boomer giddy because "law and order won" and "those Government regulations holding things back are gone!"

The POTUS is also the Ceremonial President of the Association of Disabled People.

I'm pretty sure that's never the correct lesson to be drawn from any situation. ;)

Let the stages flow through you. You've hit Anger. I'm in Bargaining. We are on our way.

Can you blame him...the dude got bent over a table for 8 years from Dubya, watched as the same party made sure zilch got done for 8 years under Obama and now that party controls everything. I mock Scooby as much as anyone but I completely get where he is coming from.

Oh well...looks like my plan to run for Mayor of Crystal just got moved up a few years. All I can do is make sure my corner of the world stays healthy and go from there.

I know...my rips on Wisconsin are leaving present company excluded. (same with Michigan)

I know and I have no problem with them. I let them roll off my back as if I took them to heart, I wouldn't be able to function in these forums.

Bashing Wisconsin is a pastime around here and many of them are actually funny.

As I've always contended, we have much more in common than we don't.

Of course your teams are a disgrace to sports in general, but that's another subject...

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XXV: Fin

My boss...a GOPer who hates Obama was worried about coming into work today because he feared how I was going to react. He and I have had some pretty good go rounds over politics and he knew Drumpf was my trigger. I told him he is safe for now ;)

The GOP has a big problem. All that stuff they have been running on for decades and then blamed the Democrats for stopping them?

#noexcuses

There are plenty of those measures that they advocated only because they knew they would never happen. But now their entire mandate is predicated on those very things: build The Wall, overturn Roe, abolish the Department of Education. Lock her up.

All those insincere promises are now mandates.

Further proof that people in WI know nothing :p

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XXV: Fin

Flint is the interesting story to me.

I don't care that all those people got poisoned anymore. I did. But, now I don't. I pray that I never have to suffer the same consequences (I know that can and probably will happen) but I'm not going to care until it does.

What I'll probably do is put in my own water purifier. That's the one thing I get from the Government that I can be scared of. I'll have to think and find the others.

I know my retirement is shot. I just plan on working until I'm dead. I hope I make it.

Thats great...until they do them.

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XXV: Fin

That said, Minnesota is much tighter in this election than anyone could have expected.

As Wisconsin has drifted red over the past 6-8 years, I've looked to Minnesota as the example of what we should have remained. What I wished we still were.

Now you guys are drifting too. Be vigilant.

No one saw Walker and Republican majorities coming or as a threat until it was too late.

The problem is the ones who get hurt by this aren't the ones who "deserve" it by your definition.
