Campaign 2016 Part XXV: Fin

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XXV: Fin

That said, Minnesota is much tighter in this election than anyone could have expected.

As Wisconsin has drifted red over the past 6-8 years, I've looked to Minnesota as the example of what we should have remained. What I wished we still were.

Now you guys are drifting too. Be vigilant.

No one saw Walker and Republican majorities coming or as a threat until it was too late.

Too late.

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XXV: Fin

The GOP has a big problem. All that stuff they have been running on for decades and then blamed the Democrats for stopping them?

#noexcuses

There are plenty of those measures that they advocated only because they knew they would never happen. But now their entire mandate is predicated on those very things: build The Wall, overturn Roe, abolish the Department of Education. Lock her up.

All those insincere promises are now mandates.

You've been saying things like this for years now and have also declared that the demise of the GOP was on its way.

You've been wrong.

I believe you overestimate the intentions of many (most) rural and/or low information Republican voters. They don't mind if they are wrong - they just don't want you to be right or your guy to win.

I've seen it play out here in Wisconsin over and over.

And that's why it's time for the Democrats to turn the corner, drop Third Way, and start turning left. And time to get militant about too. No more nice liberals, it's time to fight.

Keith Ellison lost in Minnesota. We made a big deal about the Somali girl getting elected in Mpls. and then we threw the only Muslim out of Federal Office.

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XXV: Fin

It's a mistake to think the presidential election is an endorsement of Republicanism (that would be the Senate election :p) Trump would have won even bigger running as a populist liberal Dem against Jeb, and he would have been probably more natural in that role. Keep in mind that Trump completely disavowed the Republican Party a few weeks ago, and his supporters cheered.

Then drop the globalist agenda, head towards what you had with the Occupy movement in 2011, and you might have a chance.

Remember...we were a Bernie state. Hillary did horrid with Bernie states. I still have faith in Minnesota but it is wavering...

If we go Red...well I might really leave.

Both houses are Red. Came close to picking Trump. It won't be long now.

I've specifically not predicted the GOP's demise. I've predicted that it will change because its current white nationalism is a demographic dead end, and major parties don't let themselves die anymore.

But you're right it won't change until it loses, so this has delayed the change for 2-4 more years.

Longer than that.

With 100% reporting, according to NYT, you were still blue for President, but it was close. I doubt they'll recount.

Yeah...that is a major problem with the Left, they assume everyone thinks like they do. (not policy obviously) The rural/low information voters are the fan that cheers against other teams more than they cheer for theirs.
