He is an ***-hole, making money by defrauding Medicare.

Can we for once as a board get what the first amendment is actually about?

As a (lapsed) Catholic, I didn't take offense to that comment, so I don't know why you did.

I already answered that. I did not take offense. But I would imagine you understand how many hold their faith. And also that sex is a tough subject for many faiths. I simply called it out as disrespectful to others.

So I can tell this group is irrelevant to you. Again, pick a different group that you are concerned about. Would you feel the same if people went posting stuff that gays would find totally offensive?

This is where you say...of course not, because at this instant the 'argument' is more important than telegraphing what you actually think on the topic.

Yeah, but then anything anyone says can be offensive to someone. If I say 1+1=2, someone who is bad at math will take offense. The intent of the speaker matters a lot.

No you can't, but whatever.

 If you say so, bud. I'm glad you can read my mind.

OK...then feel free to quote these posts (#11 and 12 of the religion thread) to mixed company of your Catholic relatives, and let's see just how much your intent matters.

OK then Bob Gray 2, you keep nailing yourself to that cross.

The Catholics I know would laugh at the comparison. Especially given the established history of the design (which you seem quite happy to ignore in your poutrage).

I know for a fact none of mine would go Francis on the bit, and if anyone here is not going to have a 'come to Jesus' moment and cede it's looking like it will be you.

Oh for Fark sake. Now you're presuming to speak for all Catholics again. I'll tell you this: having gone to Catholic school from K-8 (plus law school) and grown up in a city that is 60% Catholic, give or take, I'll continue to be comfortable with my assessment of the situation rather than taking an anonymous non-Catholic internet poster's word on the situation. Call me crazy, I know...

Here's an anecdote that is in similar taste, though not sex related. At the all school mass before Christmas break when I was in kindergarten, the priest was giving the homily. He ended it by telling us: "now remember children, when your parents ask what Father Dave wants for Christmas, tell them three words. Johnny Walker Red."

I'm sure there are plenty of people offended by a priest asking kids to solicit alcohol for him. I use it as a litmus test to see if people have a sense of humor.

Edit: oh, and to the extent you're trying to make us feel guilty: the only people that can do a guilt trip better than the Catholic Church are Jewish mothers. You're not even an amateur by comparison.

I know its offensive to many Catholics because it would be offensive to many 'people' (unless its your assessment that Catholics are not like 'people'). And these are their most holy places, so its doubly so for people of faith. And yes, I know about them. Tell those posts to a mixed group of relatives at Christmas (religious or not) and then let's talk.

Outside of being unhappy, nobody has anything factual to say about the original assertion that the Left often now matches the Right in its disrespect for others.

I don't know about "factual," since this is all a matter of subjective opinion, but I answered your accusation directly.

Drumpf has hired himself a notable attack dog to wrangle delegates.

All of it comes down to this: Democrats gain the more likely it is that Drumpf becomes the nominee. If he doesn't become the nominee, Democrats gain by every additional increment of acrimony, division and chaos involved in denying him the nomination. As a possible additional benefit, the more the battle for dark delegates heats up and becomes the center of news, that should further lock the convention in to choosing either Drumpf or Cruz. So if not Drumpf, then Cruz. Also good for Democrats. Manafort's addition to the campaign seems to move the ball forward on both (or perhaps two-and-a-half) fronts.

tl; dr: the more sharp knives get thrown into the cyclone in Cleveland, the more the survivor and the party as a whole emerge a bloody corpse. Good... good.

Oh you dont know the half of it...

Yeah. No problem. I don't care. As long as it's not hateful and abusive attacks toward them personally, I don't care. Maybe some of it might be funny.

Post all the pictures of Obama as witch doctor you want. I don't find them funny. I don't find them offensive. They don't make me angry. They tell me a lot more about you than they ever would affect me.

So I did this because I thought you were so reactive that maybe I was missing something. Tried 3 different people, all Catholics. Did not tell them why. They thought it was funny. They did not understand why anyone would be offended. Having conducted my research for the day I am going to finish up what I need to before the real hostile and abusive people play the kittycats.

Sanders wins Wyoming, splits delegates 7-7.
