Re: Campaign 2016 Part, let's say, X: There's a red moon rising On the Cuyahoga River

Can't even one poster have a serious response to my point?
Speaking as a religious conservative,
...no.

(but then, we don't attach any sanctity to things on earth, whether church buildings, dead bodies, robes, pieces of wood, or anything else. I might understand you feeling offended if you have a more Catholic view on these things)

sorry. I just realized that your point was probably that liberals are generally more flippant and conservatives more serious-minded. Yeah, you may be right.

I can't imagine a thread on African American heritage having conservatives bring up slavery in such a fashion or some other comparable level of disrespect.

Slavery actually happened.

Neither liberals nor conservatives are more obnoxious or disrespectful overall; they're just serious (or thin-skinned) about different subjects. I've been appalled at the cavalier, insensitive, disrespectful, and downright childish attitude conservatives take on the BLM movement, for example. I'm sure conservatives would reply in kind over something else.

As with most things, the variations within groups are far greater than any variation between groups.

As a (lapsed) Catholic, I didn't take offense to that comment, so I don't know why you did.

Then again, I grew up in a state where the Capitol is colloquially known as the pen!s of the prairie. It's even got a sower of seeds on the top.

They stole the LAPD HQ from Dragnet and hid it in the middle of a corn field?

Hilary on Today show with Matt Lauer aghast that Bernie would suggest breaking up banks.

Well, you know, he's attacking her loved ones.

If she loses the Dem nom the Republicans can always pick her in Cleveland.

When E.F. Hutton talks, politicians listen.

It would be fun if both conventions go off script. As we turn to the final page expecting to read "And they lived happily ever after," we get "Blood and destruction because of one man. Because, because, because of one man. Our elimination because of one man."

So many jokes...

Well Rover may continue to claim he's not concerned, but the rest of the Dem establishment is sh-tting themselves. NYT and WaPo each running editorials slagging Sanders and preaching that we fast forward to the final stage of grief and accept Hine-nui-te-pō.

It's getting hot in here. But please, candidates, do not take off all your clothes.

CROWD:
Hosanna
Hey Sanna Sanna Sanna Hosanna
Hey Sanna Hosanna
Hey Benie, Bernie won't you smile at me?
Sanna Hosanna
Hey Superstar

DWS:
Tell the rabble to be quiet, we anticipate a riot.
This common crowd, is much too loud.
Tell the mob who sing your song that they are fools and they are wrong.
They are a curse. They should disperse.

CROWD:
Hosanna
Hey Sanna Sanna Sanna Hosanna
Hey Sanna Hosanna
Hey Bernie, Bernie you're alright by me
Sanna Hosanna
Hey Superstar

BERNIE:
Why waste your breath moaning at the crowd?
Nothing can be done to stop the shouting.
If every tongue were stilled
The noise would still continue.
The rich and stoned themselves would start to sing:

CROWD AND BERNIE:
Hosanna
Hey Sanna Sanna Sanna Hosanna
Hey Sanna Hosanna

CROWD (alone):
Hey Bernie, Bernie won't you fight for me?
Sanna Hosanna Hey Superstar

CROWD and BERNIE:
Hosanna
Hey Sanna Sanna Sanna Hosanna
Hey Sanna Hosanna

CROWD (alone):
Hey HC, HC won't you die for me?
Sanna Hosanna Hey Superstar

With grievous apologies to Mr. Rice and Mr. Webber

As are most voters old enough to remember the last time banks stopped loaning money in late-2007.
