I'm actually seeing a remarkable number of Bernie supporters who will go Trump if Hillary gets the nomination. They do NOT like her. They really don't like how dismissive she's been of Bernie and some of the comments she's made to his supporters ("special place in hell" for instance.)

they will just sit out.

many, MANY people would cut off a finger before pushing a button for hilly

Re: Campaign 2016 - in bridge, the trump cards are really wild.

Speaking of the pope's flame war pissing contest with Trump over who's a "real" Christian, Catholics are reportedly voting overwhelmingly for Trump in Boston (while dissing Rubio and Cruz, not to mention "his holy highness"). I don't understand anything any more.

Racism is not a tough sell to white people in Boston.

Maybe they're tired of the same old BS from Washington and want a change. I keep telling ya, the mob is mad as he77 and is not taking it anymore. If the Sacred College can elect a Jesuit, anything is possible.

You want change so you support someone that advocates committing war crimes.

edit: I know you're still holding out hope for someone more sane, but I have no doubts you'll be pulling the lever for Donald in the General.

It's time to stop making excuses for why someone would support Trump. The only excuse is being a terrible person.

ANd here I had thought the thread was too lighthearted to believe!

I really don't understand what his happening this election cycle. Donald Trump says everything to everyone, contradicts himself at every turn and yet wins delegates. I got into an argument with a friend (from WI) who told me I better caucus for Trump today. My simple response, "no f-ing way...he's a snake oil salesman." Then he tells me that he's great because he doesn't care what the establishment thinks and that the only way to make america great again is tariffs and a trade war...I don't know what to say...I don't really like any of my choices on the right since there is no way Paul is/was getting anywhere. So sick of a political system that gives me a choice between this group and someone Drumpf is the favorite? wteff

Chris Christie is standing in the background with a look that says "Oh my god, what did I do?"

This one puzzles me. The guy is a consummate politician. He has been schmoozing with various politicians for years to groom them for his own devices. According to him he is on a first name basis with everyone and knows how to 'play the game'. How is he an outsider? It would seem he claims that at the same time as bragging he knows how to game the system. Which one is it?

Another thing that baffles me- a democracy means you can't decree what you want. You have to work with people, form coalitions, etc. If your only answer to people who disagree is "Get em' outta here" how does that work on the world stage? SNL skits of him booting out all the world leaders at meeting at the UN, the G8/ G10 come to mind.*

I keep asking Trump supporters how is he going to deal with dignitaries, other world leaders, other legislative branches- It is a requirement of the office. I have yet to meet anyone who has considered this and when asked they get a blank stare like it doesn't compute. Has anyone seen this addressed in an intelligent way (other than I will be great at it!)?

*they will have to pick meeting places carefully - he is banned or they are working on it in more than one place

Also, why did nearly 4k (so far) in MASS vote No Pref? Nearly 1% took time out of their day to vote that they weren't voting.

what did you have?

i had pres, then 3 different sections for delegates (male delegate, female delegate [yes, really], then general delegates).

Re: Campaign 2016 - in bridge, the trump cards are really wild.

Nominations have been over for quite awhile. Tonight, super Tuesday, that's playing itself out. Clinton vs. Trump.

Listening to Trumps speech tonight, it appears he will in fact race to the center on a number of fronts once the election. Demographics/Geography favor the Dems...but Trump make the race interesting (or more).

Town committee reps, a couple of other positions I forget

George Orwell wrote about this in "1984". Every day you were supposed to forget what they told you yesterday

It's amazing he can just interrupt a reporter mid-question, yell over him until he the reporter stops talking, and then scream an answer, and the reporter never gets to the meat of the question.

And now he's going to beef up the military, and infrastructure, and get a new healthcare plan, but he's also the most conservative fiscally, according to himself. Every speech is amazing.
