Campaign 2016 - in bridge, the trump cards are really wild.

The space program did more for technology advancement than anything else in the 20th or 21st centuries.

I want the first person on Mars by 2025.
I want a permanent station on the moon by 2025.
I want a permanent station on Mars by 2035.
I want a person to set foot on a Jovian moon by 2050.

I don't know man, we should spend that money on more tanks.

An Illinois judge ruled today that Ted! is still a native born US citizen.

Canada breathes a sigh of relief?

All the "Drumpfs" in this thread make me smile :)

Well, I refuse to label myself a ******* or an elephant, so no CO caucus for me.

Bernie Sanders - 92% *pause to allow Reddit to prostrate itself*
Jill Stein - 89%
Pantsuit Cyborg - 84%

Gary Johnson - 64%
Bloomberg - 63%

Ted Cruz, Zodiac Killer - 43% O_o (on science issues O_o)
Das Drumpf - 33% (no major issues :D)
Carson - 30%
RuBIOS v. 2.0 - 28%

Re: Campaign 2016 - in bridge, the trump cards are really wild.

I no longer have any doubt that Trump is going to be destroyed in the general. I am seeing a lot of conservatives speak out very forcefully about ejecting his poison from the marketplace of ideas at the lesser cost of a Hillary presidency. This will be the biggest landslide in history, I doubt Trump wins a single state when it's said and done. Bloomberg might win a couple if he runs.

I'm actually seeing a remarkable number of Bernie supporters who will go Trump if Hillary gets the nomination. They do NOT like her. They really don't like how dismissive she's been of Bernie and some of the comments she's made to his supporters ("special place in hell" for instance.)

I call B.S.

The only commonality between Bernie and Drumpf is that they're perceived as "outsiders" (I don't know how a long-time U.S. Senator and a billionaire can be outsiders, but whatever).

If you actually agree with and support Bernie's policies, there's no way you could then switch to Drumpf when Hillary supports about 90% of the same things Bernie does.

Re: Campaign 2016 - in bridge, the trump cards are really wild.

No, I've seen polling data on either CNN or MSNBC that shows a surprising number of Bernie supporters would jump to trump.

I didn't believe it either, but so far that's what they were indicating. Now when it comes time to pull the level and you're by yourself, it's only you and you convictions. Might be a lot easier to say than to do.

Either they don't realize that or they don't care. They view Hillary as untrustworthy and willing to say anything to get elected. (And then they turn around and go for Drumpf who actually IS saying anything to get elected, but whatever.)

No it doesn't. Check the Catechism of the Catholic Church.

Well, the pope said "The death penalty is inappropriate no mater how serious the crime". Seems like you ought to take his word on it over Trumps.

Re: Campaign 2016 - in bridge, the trump cards are really wild.

Speaking of the pope's flame war pissing contest with Trump over who's a "real" Christian, Catholics are reportedly voting overwhelmingly for Trump in Boston (while dissing Rubio and Cruz, not to mention "his holy highness"). I don't understand anything any more.

That is because the majority of them never saw the full quote or even a snippet of what the pope said but did see the Donald ranting on and on about his poor maligned self.

Until the Pope makes a pronouncement "from the chair", the Catechism wins. In matters of "faith and morals" the Pope is without error. In civil matters, he is just Plain Old Jorge.

Maybe they're tired of the same old BS from Washington and want a change. I keep telling ya, the mob is mad as he77 and is not taking it anymore. If the Sacred College can elect a Jesuit, anything is possible.

Here's another head-scratcher: Trump is winning the (nearly pure Hispanic) border counties in TX while losing in the north. Either they see job opportunities to come in "yuge wall" construction, or they're in it for the comedy.

Everyone wants a change. But when you get tired of drinking cheap wine, you don't upgrade to a bucket of rancid horse piss. Trump is the latter.

You are aware that many conservative Catholics do not trust Francis at this point, yes? They think he is a commie with an agenda to further liberalize the catechism and continue forcing the so-called "Church of Nice" on the faithful.

Plus, we're talking about Boston here, and old white racists are Trump's base. Can you imagine a stereotypical Southie voting for anyone else? I can't. :p

That's an easy one - the Hispanics living along the border are overwhelmingly registered Dems. The few Republican voters are overwhelmingly in the tank for Trump and his rhetoric about a wall that will surpass what was built in Berlin.

I admit to being clueless about that stuff. I just figured Catholics would be backing the pope, and even if not, would back a conservative candidate.

US conservative catholics are those who think abortion should only be performed when the mother's life is in danger :D
