http://www.bloomberg.com/politics/articles/2015-07-22/marco-rubio-says-president-obama-has-no-class-

So Rubio criticizes Obama for his appearance on The Daily Show during his own appearance on Fox & Friends...

One has substantive debate on the day's current topics with experts, the other is a morning clown show featuring tips on home renovation, how not to get struck by lightning, and a full segment on something called knockerball.

Lyndsey is calling Donald Trump a *******. He even did it on CNN. This years Repubs are a hoot.

Donald can go after McCain all he wants. We can form some sort of "Boat" group to do it for him if we have to. Go Donald Go.

Re: Campaign 2016 -- Don't Let the Perfect Become the Enemy of the Good

So for years Trump donates almost exclusively to Democrats, including major contributions to Hillary Clinton. Thinks about running in 2012, gets hammered in the media for claiming to be Republican but being a major Democrat contributor. Beginning 2012 starts donating "exclusively" to Republicans and gets in the 2016 race.

So, at what point do we find out about the Trump under the table contributions to HRC and other Democratic candidates in this campaign? Someone in the GOP has gotta be working this angle right now, don't they?

Pols take money from everyone.

A more important question would be why did Hillary bank that contribution?

I've wondered this a few times as the things just get more and more clownshow-like. I know that's about as tinfoil hat as you can get, but I can't help but wonder if he's just torpedoing the conservative ideology for the general :D

It could be a bait and switch.

Trump is on fire today. And Bloom County is on fire about Trump. What a great Presidential campaign season.

Re: Campaign 2016 -- Don't Let the Perfect Become the Enemy of the Good

Jeb decided to copy his brother's "lets scrap Social Security" of a decade ago with "let's scrap Medicare".

Re: Campaign 2016 -- Don't Let the Perfect Become the Enemy of the Good

What the story doesn't tell you is that 5 of the 7 members of the Court simply ran for the position and were elected by the citizens of Wisconsin. The other two were appointed by governors, neither one of whom were Scott Walker. All were on the Court long before Scott Walker ever set foot in the Governor's office.

Wisconsin is a screwed up state right now, but to suggest that Walker somehow bought and paid for the Court that ruled in his favor is a stretch.

I expect this to become more and more the GOP's ex cathedra position. Medicare gives the lie to all their rhetoric about Obamacare, and it's a spectacularly successful government program and thus refutes their worldview. When confronted with a disagreeable fact, the zealot ignores it until he can try to erase it.

Re: Campaign 2016 -- Don't Let the Perfect Become the Enemy of the Good

I believe Trump is a goner probably sooner rather than later. The Perry lovefest last time lasted about 4 months. As a result, if the GOP ends up with the right nominee...his tirades will have little impact.

There is one exception...one way in which Trump could seriously damage the GOP...and as one article I saw today mentioned, if Trump goes independent. That could end the GOP's chances.

Depends how the electorate views him. As a serious candidate like Perot, Nader, Wallace, Thurmond, Anderson (?) or as another Silly Party candidate.

It wouldn't help, that's for sure. I don't think an independent Trump would actually poll more than about 5%, but that 5% would all come from the GOP side and our elections have been turning on far smaller margins.

God, maybe it's all just a hostage taking? Are there billionaires right now meeting with Trump and saying "what's your price"? That would indeed be an epic blackmail.

It wont matter, he pull away the base of crazies that love him. Right now the GOP cant afford to lose anyone from their base or they will be in trouble.

If the GOP loses even 5% of the vote nationwide from its 2012 performance, the electoral map will be a landslide. The tossup states become Arizona, Georgia, and the like. The NE2 district probably goes blue again.

Depends. If they lose 5% of NYC or LA/SF or Chicago - who cares? Those states are going blue even if Jimmy Carter is the nominee.

Pull that 5% from FL, OH, NC, VA - trubbles.
