Business, Economics, and Taxes: Eat Cereal for Dinner

SpaceX starship go BOOM

I want to be shocked that Musk's vanity project continues to burn through piles of cash with no outcome like the Joker in The Dark Knight but..... *gestures toward Twitter valuation*.

I dislike Bezos almost as much as I do Musk, but Blue Origin just had a successful launch of their SpaceX Falcon Heavy equivalent New Glenn. Now if only they had a crew rated capsule so SpaceX wasn't the only option.

I never watched the show myself but if ever there was a time to strike Monday would be it if you want to end MAGA. Hell it would likely end the Democrats as we know them as well. It would be short term chaos but with good potential...if only God existed.

Script writers tying up the end of Season 248 and starting Season 249 are getting lazy...

Biden's National Security Advisor stated at his last presser that "I hope this is the last time at this podium, at least for a little while. I don't mean that in the negative sense, I mean... the only thing that would bring me back is, um, an unexpected event in the next few days which as you all know is totally possible given everything you've seen over the course of the past year."

“The TikTok ban is only happening because we finally found a platform for the Palestinians to show their plight and AIPAC shut it down!”

As a leftist, I really hate leftists sometimes.

You have a problem with them blaming rich Jews for their problems? Why would that be :p

Hard cut black...next season starts Monday!

Re: Leftists and the TikTok ban

Besides the obvious antisemitism, it’s also whole specious argument about how “the government is not letting us choose our social media platforms and it’s on par with book banning!”

Like, they’re not silencing you and they can’t stop you from using or creating an alternative platform.

But...JEWS!

People have a weird infatuation with a crappy platform where stupid people pretend to be smart and give terrible advice and dance. Christ if you want that listen to Joe Rogan and watch reruns of America's Funniest Home Videos.

But that doesn't allow you to be a 'star' on your own platform.

You know what...I'm feeling like you just don't #understand like, the world is filled with bright lights! But where the lights shine brightest...there will also be shadows! But enough about the posters on the forum here and what JMFJ's dad used to do during intermission at Michigan games...

IM(stupid-pretending-to-be-smart)O, it's a combination of disdain for the (obvious) interference Musk and Zuck injection in their own platform, finally being tired of not even getting the promised hand job from their Congressional representative unless they have an envelope of cash (or Beetlejuice tickets), and realizing that while there are people who make Drunk History look 1000% accurate, there's been a lot more truth that has been able to be told in short form that people may not have found. There's also a part where news can get out without being decided if it's "newsworthy" by mass media.

Over three million people openly flipped the middle finger to the government and signed up for RedNote. There hasn't been an *ounce* of concern from those same congressmen who voted to ban TikTok *by name* for "security reasons" over other apps. Why doesn't Temu get scrutinized? Shein? The presumption that "Well it *could* be used for propaganda" is laughable at best. I'm really going to be radicalized while watching a 60 second clip a guy try to take a shot of Malort with a straight face while I'm sitting on the toilet at 6am? While being shown three videos in a row from three different people trying to sell me a 13" Arzopa portable monitor? Christ the app isn't dropping leaflets into a warzone, it's Millenial QVC.

Look, come tomorrow when I go to open the app and I'm greeted with a black screen where it states why they went dark in the US, I'll just close the app and move on with my life. Continuing to touch grass like I have in the past. I only have put up the argument because it sounded like Congress in here from half of y'all complaining about the app. Also, it's an algorithm. I haven't seen anyone "dancing" in years, so what are you watching and liking? [ChrisHansenLean.jpeg]

If anything, it's helping my decision to cut down on Meta apps and is reinforce my decision to stop using and uninstall X.

But you can still find me on Bluesky. And Zelle. ; )

Yes, everyone's the star in their own story. TikTok let's everyone else see what a star they are.

That's Gen whatever's big problem. They've been raised since birth with their parents telling them what a special unique little flower they are. So they believe it, and have to broadcast that to the world.

The reality is that most everyone is just a nameless, faceless cog in a world that really doesn't give two shits about them, just like everybody else, and the sooner they acknowledge that, the better prepared they will be to navigate that world.

But, that's why the special little flowers have so much trouble handling disappointment, rejection, and struggle.

My impression from dealing with Gen Z so far is that they are the most sensible and savvy generation in the last century. They don't think they are special. That's been the conceit of every generation from the Boomers through the Millenials. Gen Zers appear to know (1) they are f-cked, (2) they will never have a voice, (3) everybody regardless of age is full of sh-t but (4) nobody else seems to be able to admit it.

I think they will fix things. They just won't fix them the way we want, because we don't understand what's wrong, and that's why we f-cked everything up.

We had 3 consecutive sh-t, self-absorbed generations. Gen Z breaks the streak.

No. As evidenced by this last election, most of them are ****ing stupid and gullible. They’re undereducated, they have little clue to actual history, and they’re easily susceptible to any kind of propaganda from apps like TikTok. How do you think idiots like Rogan and Tate maintain their popularity?

The biggest problem I’ve seen with my younger Gen Z coworkers is that, thanks to a lifetime with a smartphone in their hands, is that they know a lot about different things, but they have zero comprehension of it. In terms of actual knowledge, most of them know nothing.

Only the millennials have bucked the trend of derp.

my experience with Gen Z is the same as every snot nosed kid. They're as dumb as every generation before them.

im really surprised Kep of all people is falling for this.

Try telling them about pre-existing conditions and lifetime caps. They literally don't believe that was a thing and hand wave away the catastrophic effects they had on people. They give absolutely no credit for the massive difference it has made for people seeking care in the US.

Couple that with the fact that none of them have experienced a recession. Everyone else has experienced multiple. They have absolutely no understanding of economics and pain that comes with recessions without a safety net. The other frightening thing is they don't understand home economics either. Seemingly more eat out and have no idea how to cook nor the willingness to learn. Easier to order a burrito taxi and then complain that it costs $30.
