Nice to see Steck get a complete game. She won't play much next year, if at all. A cleaner series than I was expecting, but the Bulldogs power play really needs work (I know...same story, different weekend.)
If next weekend goes as it should for us and the Gophers, things will be interesting for the home stand against them at the DECC in a couple of weeks.

I'm thrilled that coach Miller started Steck in game 2. The back up needs to be prepared. Harss is only an injury away. As usual, Miller is prepping the team for the 2nd half run.
Also, good to have Wong on "O" . . . with Joc (#3) back that gives UMD better punch up front. Willy, Wong, Corny, Thibault . . . they're all playing quite well.
Good job with the sweep . . . and as usual, the PP is well, terrible.

Ironically, they are #7 nationally as well as being #7 in the WCHA. They must be doing all of their "gooning" in nonconference games.

I guess this year's group of Canadians adjusted quickly. Every year I look forward to watching the 1st year players adjust to NCAA Div I hockey. The Canadians need to learn how NOT to smash everything in sight, the Swedes and the Finns need to learn HOW to.

I don't think Thibault and Cournoyer are strong (or big) enough to knock down players like Hailey Irwin and Holmlov are Larocque already has 4 for 8 minutes since returning.

In more seriousness, she seems to do better against the Gophs when she sticks to playing hockey. In the series in Duluth last year, she didn't have a point but made several trip to the bin. In the rematch down here she stayed out of the box, and both she and her team fared better.
