BU / BC Home and Home 12/2 - 12/3 Could we really be done with each other by Dec 3?!

Re: BU / BC Home and Home 12/2 - 12/3 Could we really be done with each other by Dec

Also at least we have a campus! :p

You're right. Not having a campus sucks. I hate being able to walk to Boylston Street, Newbury Street, Fenway, etc. I wish I could go to a school with lots of trees and grass or whatever your definition of "campus" is. From what I understand, a "campus" is a place where you are secluded from the real world hanging out only with people exactly like you.

From Websters http://www.webster-dictionary.net/definition/campus

Cam´pus
n. 1. The principal grounds of a college or school, between the buildings or within the main inclosure; as, the college campus.
2. a college or university.
3. a division of a university with its own buildings and a separate faculty, especially one separated geographically from other divisiona, but sharing top administration with other units of the university; as, the Newark campus of Rutgers.
4. higher education considered as a whole; as, the financial effects of research cutbacks on the campus.
5. a business site with pleasant landscaping; as, the Squibb research campus at Princeton.

I seriously didn't apply to BC! I thought I'd get made fun of there cause I was cultured and diverse :(.

Re: BU / BC Home and Home 12/2 - 12/3 Could we really be done with each other by Dec

Is that a Good Will Hunting reference, because I think that was MIT. I can see how you'd get the two confused.

P.S. I know this was not a Good Will Hunting reference.

Paging Carmine, paging Carmine.

First of all thank you for the factual explanation. I think 3 and 5 are actually fairly consistent with what I suggested (geographically separated = secluded, trees and grass = landscaping) maybe a little bit of a stretch though.

Re: BU / BC Home and Home 12/2 - 12/3 Could we really be done with each other by Dec

COMPLETELY UNRELIABLE.

UVM is on there.

True, but they do spend all their time doing no work, smoking weed and walking around in the middle of nowhere pretending like they're on a journey in Middle Earth. That sounds pretty awesome to me.

Re: BU / BC Home and Home 12/2 - 12/3 Could we really be done with each other by Dec

I disagree. I think that BU in fact does not suck. My arguments are detailed below in order of strength (second strongest, fourth strongest, weakest, third strongest, strongest).

1. http://web.ics.purdue.edu/~ssanty/cgi-bin/eightball.cgi. I conferred with the magic 8 ball. I inquired "does BU suck", to which its first response was "My sources say no." I believe it has reliable sources.
2. I don't think BU sucks. (remember this is the fourth strongest argument)
3. Nuh uh. (weakest)
4. BU is expensive. Everyone knows expensive things do not (in general) suck.
5. No where in the wikipedia article about BU does it mention that BU sucks. Therefore I can say without hesitation or doubt that BU does indeed not suck. I rest my case.

Counter-Argument?
Counter argument???
That would be like arguing with a porch post.
You have no idea it Sucks to BU.
.
:D :p

a stretch but ok,true i guess ............. i was driving at the end of your "definition" and i use that term loosely," secluded from the real world hanging out only with people exactly like you."

Is that why BU's "campus" is overrun with people such as Homeless Guy CGS '98, Homeless Gal CGS '03, and Homeless Guy Peeing On Building CGS '09?

If you went to CGS you did more poorly on the SAT. For sure. However, none of those kids will ever be homeless. Daddy's Porche '09 is more like it.

In unrelated news to this thread, does anyone have one ticket available for Friday night's contest? I have 2 but I need 3. Worst comes to worst, I'll try a scalper out front, but I'd prefer not to if I don't have to. The ticket thread doesn't seem to be going anywhere, so I decided I'd ask again here. Thanks in advance!

Does anyone else find it funny that the posts below are all "discussions" on the definition of campus and how dumb people in CGS are and the one person asking a question related to the games this thread is about starts his post off with "In unrelated news to this thread?"

And also, no I do not have a ticket. It will be on tv though, so your third person can watch from a bar.

That's unfortunate but I guess injuries are part of the game. At least now Parker won't have to pick who to sit?
