BU at Lowell, Lowell at BU 10/30-31

Re: BU at Lowell, Lowell at BU 10/30-31

you can't score when the net's off it moorings, even if it comes back down on them

actually they invented the "Jack Parker Rule" just for that seeming eventuality (at least when BU plays). This was at least a few seasons prior to this fiasco.

Aren't there already like 47 "Jack Parker Rules"? That's what I've been led to believe by every HE poster not from BU. :p

Re: BU at Lowell, Lowell at BU 10/30-31

Saw Bunyon at one of my kid's games. Direct quote, "You guys got screwed..." I was kinda surprised he was that blatant.

On the other hand- we got way more favorable national coverage for that one moment than we ever would have if the goal had actually counted. It made it thru a news cycle and into the next. No telling what would have happened even if the goal did count. All things happen for a reason. New season now.

maybe you should have brought up to him that he was the one that did it and demanded a formal apology.

well, i know they fixed the "net push" loophole of hockey... the ref can state that the puck was going in anyhow and declare it a goal... what's uncertain is if it includes incidental contact or only if the contact with the net is deemed to be intentional.

Re: BU at Lowell, Lowell at BU 10/30-31

I thought UML got the shaft until about the 10th replay when I saw the way #6 literally pries Millan's glove off the covered puck with his stick. That is not legal, and the play should have ended right there. The rest (whistle, timing, net) is irrelevant in my book.

UML is tough this year. I'll be happy with a split.

We're really talking about this again... aren't we.

It was so much fun last year:D

At least we aren't in the fire your coach threads talking about our coaches and the program going down the tubes:p

In this spirit I hope to see at least one "It was a goal." sign at Lowell.

there god**** better be. and if bunyon or benedetto is reffing this game (and why wouldn't they?), i want signs demanding an apology from them.

no justice no peace.

Re: BU at Lowell, Lowell at BU 10/30-31

Welp, the schedule makers put this one right out there early. 4 critical points are on the line and I'm sure there isn't a player on the Lowell team who won't be up for this one.

it's pretty simple... even if this goal is counted, BU still wins this game, and nothing in history changes.

if you want to use "a loss to BU in the HE Championship Game" as a motivator, fine. but a disallowed goal? p-LEASE!

Re: BU at Lowell, Lowell at BU 10/30-31

Obama has the "Birthers" to deal with, we have the "Goalers."

Wait ... based on what? The disallowed goal is done with, last season is done with, and I'm really not trying to rehash that ... but pretty dumb statement to just flat out say that, to me anyway.

Wha? If that goal counted...

Maybe UML wins.
maybe BU fins.

maybe the roof collapses and no one wins.

But you can't say BU would definitely win after that.

Re: BU at Lowell, Lowell at BU 10/30-31

had lowell won, would their auto-bid have bumped miami? lol BU, Vermont, AND UML in the FF, BU and Lowell meet in the finals, and a Lowell goal is disallowed in the third period giving BU a "controversial" National Title

I believe Ohio St would've been the team bumped out of NCAAs had Lowell won.
