Tough game last night for Maine….definitely outplayed you guys 5 on 5 effort wise. But Caron and your PP….goodnight. I’ll pretty much be an impartial observer tonight…..but I really can’t stand BC….especially their fans. Maine just doesn’t have the horses yet…..but In Barr We Trust. He’s done a helluva job so far.

And regarding all the UMass stuff. The universe will decide. I can't be bothered obsessing about the math and the way things need to break. But if the universe is listening, UMass should be golfing on Sunday after their coach's comments after the BC debacle. What a tool.

The nice thing is that there’s always someone out there to do the math for you. :^) (Not me, I’m just a messenger)

For the most part BU was outplayed last night which was telling as they face off tonight with BC and then the national tournament. Caron and the PP won the game for them. I agree with others that the gap between BU and BC is noticeable the media plays it up that they are equals. I think
BU is closer to 3-10 than 1. It’s pretty ridiculous that a #16 team that got embarrassed last night and the team BU beat Maine are going to get a better location placement than the clear #2 in pairwise when there are 2 sites an hour away. That said I think they might have an easier road out West or no worse. Trying to think when they have come out of the West to Final 4 I couldn’t think of one

No way this is a tossup game

two teams 1-2 with equal talent and bitter rivals

I was actually sitting beside two BU fans yesterday and they were clapping each time BC scored or Fowler made big saves

I was at the game but missed the comments, must have been only on NESN? What was it he said? I was pretty disappointed he didn’t pull Hrabel. It was obvious Hrabel was out of it. Not seeing the puck, flopping a bit, lack of control with the blocker, etc… Not sure what the rational is leaving your goalie out to dry like that when UMass could have a big game in NCAA on Thursday.

Very nice game by BU’s Caron. I thought Lachance had a great game setting up camp in front of Boija. Hoping for an epic battle tonight!

This is what Carvel said after the loss:

Half of [BC's] kids have played 10-12 games in this building. Our team hasn't. It's a big stage. We didn't want it to be an excuse but we didn't have the experience playing here. We didn't get a chance to skate here yesterday. But those are excuses.

One of the stupidest things things I’ve heard a coach say.

Also, is this a contest on who can sandbag more? :) Loving hearing the BC fans think this game is a toss up. I’m not saying BU can’t win, but BC today is a different team than they were on February 5. Yeah, BU is as well. Big sigh. No idea what to expect tonight. Hey, been meaning to ask - I wasn’t paying attention, but what was wrong with Perreault that had him missing so many games?

BU got it done last night, but it wasn't pretty. They are going to have to say **** it and let it fly tonight to have any chance. (I predict 5-2 BC. Hopefully a 1 goal game going into the 3rd, but BC's skill will take over.)

Did you all catch Jay's post-game presser? A reporter asked Jay a question by saying that "from the outside, Caron is the weak link." Jay was having none of it. Kid reporter thinking he's a tough guy asking the "tough question." * eye roll *

BU Hockey: Realist

Where can I find Carvel’s post game comments?

As much as I would like BC to win I have been around long enough to say nothing is a sure thing in life

It has been a long spell since BC has won anything and despite on paper the talent looks impressive BC still lost the last matchup and made too many mistakes in the bean pot game

BC cannot turn the puck over and allow BU to jump ahead. Caron is also playing great and so is BU.

It should be another nail biter tonight and I am nervous like any true BC fan who has experienced this rivalry for decades

Maine fan here, have tickets in loge 14 row 6 tonight, if anyone wants to get them.

Credit to BU for their team’s play last night, they were the better team and a few bounces didn’t go our way. Their size in front our net and the stone wall in front of yours were the biggest differences. I’ll be watching online tonight, great matchup.

I’m going to go with never. And for the life of me I cannot remember the 2006 game. I remember the 1986 game, that was a 9-4 win. Who won in 2006? Im thinking BC did?

Big sigh. Everything that might’ve knocked UMass out last night didn’t happen. A couple more opportunities tonight but I’m thinking they’re in.

It's the later game in Worcester that season you are supposed to forget. Not the Brandon Yip goal on the great plays by Higgins and Lawrence in OT!

You don’t recall Bernie at the mic during the friends banquet waving his hand over the table with all the trophies and asking if perhaps over at the pikes peak dinner they had canceled tickets to Milwaukee??

Actually I will take it back. Different format but 1990 beating MSU in a 3 game series.
