BU '23-'24 Season: Pandomania

I love how loopy the PWR is this year.

If I'm understanding this article right as long as BOTH DU and Cornell DO NOT win, a win tonight for us would eliminate UMass. So it's not quite "controlling your own destiny" to avoid the potential of being shipped to St. Louis to play in front of no more than 2500 people, but it's fairly close.

Cornell winning 1-0 right now. So window is close to being shut for staying in Springfield. Every little thing UMass needed to happen to make the tournament has happened. Big sigh

I'm confused about St. Louis (Maryland Heights). Aren't BU and BC locks to be the #1 in Providence and Springfield?

One would think but UMass is the host in Springfield so if they make the tournament, they have to go there and you can’t have intraconference matchups in the first round.

There are plenty of permutations that keep UMass out. That is if the PWR predictor on this site is to be believed. For instance, if Bemidji State wins, bye bye UMass.

Does that conference have a consolation game? Because Bemidji lost last night.

Cornell now winning 2-0 start of the 3rd, so the help we needed from SLU not going to happen

Damn you're quick. I was going off of the predictor, which didn't have that result loaded. So I didn't realize it had already happened. So I deleted the post.

Seems my disclaimer re the accuracy of the predictor comes in handy.

Beanpot should get rid of it also and play women's and men's final both on second Monday. Beanpot consolation is awful.

Having the women’s event in TD Garden was (and hopefully continues to be) a great move. There’s so many issues with discarding the consolations to combine the event, but among them are: (1) impact on advance sales, since you can’t guarantee any school appears in any capacity until 1 week before, (2) loss of a scheduled game, which has a fixed cap and for which the Beanpot is a non-exempt tournament, with both games counting against that cap, and (3) permanently relegation of the women’s final to undercard status, which this year’s final was a step against.

They’ve scored on that exact same play multiple times against us this year. I was hoping they would pick it up on film. Across the slot and tipped in from the weak side.

Heh. I see via the USCHO scoreboard we wasted a PP and now its 1-0 to the bad guys.

Gross, it just flicked on with 13:25 to play. I think it was mid replay, but it flickered in and out for a couple seconds.

We’re outshooting them 4-2, couldn’t have been that bad, right?
