Aaaaand we’re done. And you BC fans thought we were the ones sandbagging. I’m going to go get ice cream and walk around. They look nervous and are playing very tight.

BU was the better team 5 on 5. I like their game tonight. They’re feisty and playing with purpose. That first call was total BS.

Having the women’s event in TD Garden was (and hopefully continues to be) a great move. There’s so many issues with discarding the consolations to combine the event, but among them are: (1) impact on advance sales, since you can’t guarantee any school appears in any capacity until 1 week before, (2) loss of a scheduled game, which has a fixed cap and for which the Beanpot is a non-exempt tournament, with both games counting against that cap, and (3) permanently relegation of the women’s final to undercard status, which this year’s final was a step against.

Good points. I was wondering about a team losing a game. Then move consolation game to one of the team's rinks.

ok someone near one of NESNs mics is a massive BU fan. The pounding on boards sound was drowning out the commentators heh.

You’ve solved one of (at least) three problems and created a 4th - When is this game? Is it scheduled against one of the 2 games you are trying to highlight, and for which your fans presumably bought advance tickets? It can’t really be a different day considering how 2 leagues schedule around the event.

I get what you are thinking, it’s just against the economic and competitive interests of the schools, leagues, and venues involved, and is also a sneaky disservice to equity. It just sounds kinda neat before failing every other consideration.

The NESN crew just welcomed fans who were watching the Red Sox Spring Training game - I suspect that ties directly into why the ESPN+ crowd missed the first 6+ minutes earlier tonight.
