BU 2011-2012 Season: The bar is low, boys!

Re: BU 2011-2012 Season: The bar is low, boys!

Not meant as examples or excuses or reasons as to why we have older aged canadians on the team. They were meant as examples of showing why us having them isn't unfair. Perhaps more like an equalizer?

Maybe Parker should follow suit? If he can't get the young kids to buy into the BU system anymore and play as a team maybe he'd have better luck with the older gents? I dunno. All I know is "wah wah we lost because their average age is 3 years older" sounds a lot more like an "excuse" than anything I wrote...

I'm not really sure why people have a problem with it. If you prevent the MC's, LSSU's, etc of the world from having older kids, the level of play will go down dramatically. I like seeing good hockey. There is no rule against it. Merrimack cannot compete for 18 year old local talent with BU and BC for lots of reason like location, history, academic profile, etc.

I'd like to look over the HE All-Academic teams over the years, but these "over aged Canadians" have always done very well in school and been great in the community. I've followed Merrimack for a long, long time and they have been classy individuals.

Give it a rest.

Like maple syrup, Canada's evil oozes over the United States. Think of your children pledging allegiance to the maple leaf. Mayonnaise on everything. Winter 11 months of the year. Anne Murray - all day, every day. CN Tower is the tallest structure in Cananda. It is the height of six American football fields, or five Canadian football fields. As if Canadian football really counts.

I look forward to hearing the comments from the negative nellys who were predicting the 7-1 BC type of result.

that.
is.
why.
they.
play.
the.
games.

:D

That went very well and the team seemed to be playing a simpler brand of hockey. Millan was great. Hopefully we see that version of #31 around for the rest of the season. Too many penalties again...could have done without the chippiness at the end of the game.
Powerplay looked...good?

Great result.

For some reason I'm craving Golden Corral...Wonder if I can dip a fried chicken leg in that chocolate fountain? How gross must that thing/place be by the way?

Nobody ever said they weren't talented enough. A power play (or 2) Friday night away from a weekend sweep of the two top HE teams.
Two solid home wins next weekend and.....???

Wrong, wrong, wrong and happily so.

Me too. I was expecting to get waxed. The best part was that BU seemed to get stronger as the game went. There was a time when they were up 2 and 3-0 when they were really getting outplayed. Seemed to improve as it went.

Still...I don't like our chances if this team continues to take this many penalties. Most in the nation, really?

If you can kill 'em off, I guess you can afford to take 'em. In the long run, they will get burned taking too many penalties though

It seemed to me that BC packed it in with about 15 minutes to go? Or, did BU just take control of the game?

I've been gone for a while, but glad we wrecked BC. It's been too long. Go Terriers!

Re: BU 2011-2012 Season: The bar is low, boys!

Well with this win it is safe to say that Parker should be coach for the next 5 years!

For. The. Love. Of. GOD!!!! If I hear students chanting "Scoreboard" without being up by 6 goals and more than 3 minutes to go I swear I will go to my friends in high places and track all of you down and revoke your ticket privileges. What the hell is wrong with you????

*deep breath*

OK. So......that was a pleasant surprise. Some real pretty goals today. Good to see. Keep it up!!!

Throwing this out there, with all the strange results this weekend..is the new #1...THE MACK?

Re: BU 2011-2012 Season: The bar is low, boys!

Mercy. Didn't see that one coming.

Will this build confidence for a strong home weekend? Who the hell knows.

Re: BU 2011-2012 Season: The bar is low, boys!

I think it is time that Jerry York retires. He has obviously lost the plot.
His team gets shutout at home and loses in front of a national television audience to a disinterested, mediocre opponent that has no powerplay, can't kill penalties, has inconsistent goaltending and a coach with questionable senility.

If the score had been reversed, people would be looking to string up Parker.

Maybe we can let the season play out without any knee-jerk reactions about any coaches that aren't going anywhere anytime soon.
