slightly off topic, but i just came across the CHN headline from the UNH game saying that Millan tied Sean Fields for most wins in BU history, meaning he set the record in the win over Denver. pretty cool. congrats to him.

Nieto's goal-scoring streak in now at eight over two seasons. Might that be a record for a Terrier not named Jack Garrity? Nieto's strong play at both ends probably earns him reconsideration for the Jr. National Team after he was cut from evaluation camp in August.

Here is to hoping that the team takes some positive reinforcement from the last 40:03:17 of tonights game... I mean wow, hard work does pay off.

And put me in the camp that thinks Rollie should get more starts than he does.

So what happens to Chiasson after he gets put back into the line up? Seems like Parker really likes the sophomores together and I personally would like to see Rodruigues stay on the top line. It gives him a much better chance at developing some finishing ability since right now that seems to be his main issue. Lots of good opportunities- just hasn't been able to put them away.

Chiasson with Hohmann and Megan on the 3rd line could be a possibility and you would have to think it would make that line less of a liability since I've noticed a lot of GAs have been scored against the 3rd and 4th lines.

Does anyone know why there is such a dustup between BC posters and Hokydad regarding Malcolm Lyles? I'm not all that interested, but the vehemence of the controversy has piqued my curiosity.

Re: BU 2011-2012 Season: The bar is low, boys!

Lost in the excitement of last night's win was no mookie. They lost both games he's been at, including my birthday last week. So, I think he owes me and needs to stay home. :)

Also, second week in a row that What Yeat Was It was wrong. Who puts those together?v they said that 1978 was the year BU won its 2nd national championship. Apparently the banners aren't big or prominent enough.

Hokydope thinks Malcolm Lyles is the best defenseman since Bobby Orr. He transferred from BC. He is not a good defenseman. He is a 5th or 6th D-man for UML.

I've noticed that, too. Last week, they had the Bruins winning the Stanley Cup in 1967, a year in which the B's didn't make the playoffs, in the last season of the old 6 team NHL. It's comical.

I guess they ran out of baby pictures.

Speaking of UML, do they ever beat BC? It seems that BC just owns them.

Wouldn't be surprised if Chiasson returns as RW3--but on the first power play unit. Teaming him with Megan and Hohmann should give BU a third scoring line and hopefully get Megan back in the scoring column.

Another question is whether Privitera will return to the lineup. Normally you wouldn't expect blueline changes after an improved effort.

Re: BU 2011-2012 Season: The bar is low, boys!

People get on Parker for getting on players to take responsibility.
Isn't that what Nicastro should be doing?
How about some of the others that haven't lived up to expectations?
Maybe they were overrated? Maybe they don't have what it takes?
Sure, we need to look at the recruiting and the coaching.

Just because Parker doesn't give the players a pass, doesn't mean that we should, either.

Nicastro has size and physical ability, but makes too many bad decisions.
Clendening has plenty of ability, but also coughs up the puck far too frequently without pressure because he loses concentration or doesn't pay enough attention.
Maybe they are ADHD?

There is what we can see, and there is also so much that we don't know.

Of course the players need to take responsibility - they don't get a free pass. But when the problem has persisted for many years, you have to wonder if the way the coach is dealing with the issues and motivating the players is really working. And I'll even say that the way he deals with the issues has been pretty consistent since I have been following BU Hockey. The problem is that the players have changed, and Parker's approach is no longer effective.

As I've said before, things like falling behind an inferior team by three goals at home used to happen, but rarely more than once, perhaps twice in a season. Now it happens so often, I practically expect it. The last two home games have been instances. Thankfully, last night, the team overcame it.

He is a good player, but since some posters hate hokydad they unfairly transfer that negativity onto Lyles as well.

He is not a good player. He is an average hockey player playing on one of the worst teams in HE.

Opinions vary
Those that matter disagree
Yes, you don't matter

You're right. My opinion doesn't matter. I somehow have a feeling I played more competitive hockey than you, which is limited to four years of high school and a prep year and some summer pick up now. You're living your failed childhood precariously through the youths of others now. Very sad individual.

You figured it out
