Brown - Oops! They did it again.

Re: Brown - Oops! They did it again.

Again, read the first posts I made and perhaps you'll get an understanding of where I came from.

From those I gathered...
1) You are a parent of a current Brown player.
2) You are upset that certain players from last year's team aren't on this year's squad when they had been talked up during your daughter's recruitment (long before they didn't make this year's team mind you).
3) You seek the removal of Digit Brown as coach.

#1 is nice to have on the forum. #2 is OK to express disappointment when bad things like this happen.

#3 IS NEVER OK ON THIS FORUM if you are in the category of #1.

Do I need to make myself any clearer?

And which one of us is Digit?

Re: Brown - Oops! They did it again.

GHF, please go back and read hcky85's posts. S/he explained quite succinctly why writing to the AD at Brown would be an exercise in futility. It would be a good idea if it hadn't already been tried.

Then I suggest that you try the University President if you aren't satisfied with the AD's response. But YOU should not be doing what you are doing HERE.

Has anyone seen ccookie79 & hcky85 logged on at the same time? Although the writing styles are different, you could purposely do that to hide your true identity.

Re: Brown - Oops! They did it again.

Is it only me or does it seem specific information on the problem(s) at Brown is drizzeled out or sparingly issued to us outsiders? To me it seems the info is given in this fashion to drag out this thread and to prolong the misery. If you have something to say please say it. Come clean with all the specific info you have and quit using us and this forum for your own personal grudge match.

Are you comparing my strategic argumentative plan to something like the leaking of the MLB steroid list?

Didn't even see this insult coming, I’m offended.

Re: Brown - Oops! They did it again.

Here is Kookie's first post..

May 8th, 2009
and I quote..." If hockey is that far up on my daughters priority list I'd want her on the team where she might get some playing time. It's not like there's a post-college ice hockey career for her anyway so I'd want her to be happy and enjoy the time she has left in the sport. If her academics were such that D1 is the place to be, then I'd take the bench with the better curriculum".

Guess what...methinks her D did "take the bench" and the rest is well....history.

Hurling into bucket now. What a waste of a perfectly good Whoopie Pie. Thanks pal.

No, I just have my visibility setting on hide.

Re: Brown - Oops! They did it again.

That's you calling the kettle black. My first posts were related to a siimple question that I asked. The fact that you and your likenesses chose to interpret it as anti-coach makes you - from your quote - "completely misinterpret my motives and continue to engage in poorly-substantiated charges".

You should not spew a moral high road to anyone when you've been one of the first to lose your way.

1) The "simple" question you asked was quickly exposed as your WHINING about players that YOU thought should be on DIGIT's team this season based upon YOUR selective hearing and DISTORTED VIEW THROUGH ROSE COLORED GLASSES when YOUR daughter was recruited.

2) As to the anti-coach charge. You have made it clear that you do not want Digit to be the coach at Brown. It started before the girls hit the ice. See this post http://board.uscho.com/showthread.php?p=4347027#post4347027 for details. If this doesn't clarify your motives, what does?

I haven't lost my way. You seem to have lost your mind, though. Because you still think one of us is Digit. Care to tell us who?

Re: Brown - Oops! They did it again.

And for the record when I said I thought Digit acted inappropriately, I did not just mean things that she discussed with the team. I thought it was completely unnecessary and unprofessional to let someone’s personal matters be talked amongst coaches at different schools. The narrative of this post makes it seem very unlikely that it originated from anyone else’s but one of the coaches’ mouths.

Well, what happened is no secret in the coaching community.

Re: Brown - Oops! They did it again.

Here's a Brown hockey question, not to divert from this wonderful conversation, but is Kelley Griffin, one of the team's freshmen players, injured, not suiting up or no longer on the team? She appears to have played only 12 or so games, the last being in November 2009, I believe.

Re: Brown - Oops! They did it again.

And that is exactly my point, it’s not right.

So you have hurt feelings because you ASSUME Digit is behind the initiation of said public discussion. The fact that tongues wag doesn't mean that she should sit quietly and not squarely address the situation.

she is injured

Re: Brown - Oops! They did it again.

I understand that as well. I might not be a traditionalist when it comes to handling hockey affairs, but I do consider myself to be a traditionalist when it comes to basic morals.

She lacks any understanding of common decency and has never been forced into taking responsibility for her actions. So if she would like to show a lack of respect for past players and assistant coaches then I have no problem coming onto a website and pointing that out to a community that she thought would never hear anyone else’s perspective but her own.

I agree, there is no need for any of this to be publicly known. But I’m not the person who’s responsible for doing so.

Thank you for assuring me that my motives for coming on this website were never fictional. I hope, as coaches you realize you’re there to set an example, not eat up gossip like an 8th grade clique.

What have you never made a mistake in college? Doubtful. But I bet your coaches had the common decency to not turn your blunders into a form of entertainment amongst coaches in the league.
