Brexit - Should I stay or should I go??

Re: Brexit - Should I stay or should I go??

Labour voted down the Remain option at the conference. It's bizarre. Speaker after speaker railed against Brexit and were applauded by the delegates, who then turned around and overwhelmingly voted to support "Leave with a deal"

So Labour still want that unicorn...

Afraid of their own constituents?

It sounds like internal polling still supports Pelosism. Liberals reps aren't the only ones who haven't adjusted to a world where we can have the things we want. Liberal voters haven't yet either.

We need a Reagan of the Left. They don't need any details or even much of a brain. They just need charisma and confidence and the ability to inspire people to have the courage of their convictions. Reagan was a fraud and a borderline imbecile, but he made the people around him charge.

Lol. I see liberals in power are incompetent universally.

They've become more of a centrist party. Don't let the Tories painting Corbyn as a Socialist fool you any more than Sniffles painting Biden and Pelosi (or even Sanders and Warren) as Socialists.

If you want Liberals, there is now only one party for you in England: The Lib Dems

Leader Jo Swinson just now

Jeremy Corbyn has again shown a total lack of leadership on Brexit and settled on yet another fudge on the biggest issue facing our country. Jeremy Corbyn has repeatedly had the opportunity to put the full force of the Labour behind a remain position, but he has once again shown today that he is a Brexiteer at heart.

He is determined to negotiate a Brexit deal if Labour win an election, despite all the evidence that there is no Brexit deal that is good for our economy, our NHS and our security. By refusing to say how the Labour party would campaign in a second referendum, Jeremy Corbyn is letting down the millions of people who want to see the UK remain in the EU.

The Liberal Democrats are the only main party going into the next election promising to end the Brexit chaos. If the Liberal Democrats win the next general election, then we will use that democratic mandate to revoke article 50 on day one and stop Brexit.

Easier said than done. Liberals by our very nature are harder to lead around by a charisma and empty promises. We pick and poke and complain too much. We question. Obama seemed like a liberal dream but ruled from the center and was weak and ineffective on some big things (Gitmo been closed yet? Wars in Asia are finished, right?) As a result a good portion of his party abandoned him. Same with Bubba. The veneer wears off. It doesn't wear off on the other side of the aisle.

They must be confused because the unicorn is the animal of Scotland. Maybe if they change it...
That was a callback ;)

Read Kos for a month.

Sure, the right tail of the Left is lightyears more intelligent and self-critical than the right tail of the Right. We come from academia, they come from business. We are the A students, they are the C students. Granted.

But.

The Left person on the street is nearly as mentally weak and logically sloppy as the Right racist in the gutter. Kos is even better than the average -- read DU. There are people out there on our side, people who are active and sincere and connected and energetic, who are still as dumb as a post, and those people will always be the majority. The football team is always going to outnumber the Latin club.

A pleasant, dumb, passionate Lefty with pretty hair and a smooth line of glib aphorisms would magnetize the masses floating in those Seas of Intellectual Tranquility. Oprah über Alles.

Sure, those people exist, but nearly in as many numbers as on the Right.

Thomas Cook went under after 178 years in business. 22,000 employees just got placed on waivers.

Let me amend that to say, people in power who aren’t witting or unwitting agents of Putin. Or whatever.

The point I’m trying to make is the people who aren’t dip****s (Democrats, Labour, etc.) are ****ing morons.

God I can’t even think today. Big news over the weekend for me personally. Not entirely public yet. Sorry ;)
