i'm not talking criminal investigation.
and if they are looking, they can tell their alumni who's support they desperately rely upon that they are doing something to uphold the name and honor of their alma mater. and that they will keep any and all information confidential until their investigation is complete to encourage people to step forward and share their stories. that no one individual or one program is above reproach and to remember that this is BOSTON university, not PARKER university nor HOCKEY university.
but i suspect they only called the hockey office to make sure they are on the list to get regional tickets.

This. I came to BU, then became a hockey fan. Not the other way round. As an alum, hockey connects me to BU. but I care about the school and its students more.

Investigation? What investigation? It's done. There's a traumatized female victim out there who has likely said all she's going to say except to police, her family, her doctor(s) and her lawyer. None of these actions were sanctioned, condoned, or in any way attributed to the actions or inactions of the athletic department. The investigation consists of waiting for the police to fax over any reports that have not already been sealed by the Court. If you want to blame the 'culture', I guess people are free to do so despite most, including me, being completely uninformed about what 'culture' does indeed exist.
If the school plans to hang someone out to dry over this, I certainly think I know who that someone will be. Deserved or not. But please don't give me this 'investigation' nonsense. It's all about putting lipstick on a pig at this point. And I feel absolutely horrible for everyone involved including the BU students who have never even seen a hockey game.
These two incidents involve 2 alleged victims( and their families), 2 talented hockey players who have potentially screwed their chances of future education and athletic success, great school with great people, and the list goes on.
I am merely a season ticket holder who loves hockey and BU but went to another college.
If I'm this concerned for everybody involved, I can imagine how those closer to the situation feel. I wish everyone associated with the BU community the best.

i'm not 'investigating' any rape charge. there are people paid to do that. if i'm mr boston univ i'm checking out:
1) we read that back in december after the trivino episode the dfp was able to identify nicastro as an 'offender'. i'm talking to every person on trivino's floor. every person on nicastro's floor. everybody one floor up. everybody one floor down. "talk to me. i'm talking to everyone, so it probably very unlikely that anyone will be able to finger anyone who tells me a story. i want to know how i messed up. i should have talked to you then. i'm sorry. i'm listening now."
2) i'm hacking into the dfp and bhb website and finding that parent and girlfriend and seeing if their stories are legit.
3) i'm sitting down with brownie and finding out what he and parker talked about in december (if at all). did he ask his employee what happen in the first how many event with corey and alcohol that prompted the removal? why after all those was there another chance? why wasn't he gone already (depending what happened)? was he a 'sit home alone' drunk, or did he go out with friends? are all these friends players? what is the story with the friends? did brownie just take jack at his word? did he have some questions that went unanswered? did he only worry about his beanpot seats?
4) i'm talking with mr t's pub. what's going on in there? are you going to tell me, or do i have to make anonymous calls to the bupd (who are just around the corner) that there are underage student drinkers there every night and have them come in and id everyone and make people uncomfortable. if that doesn't work, do i take pictures of students going in and out every night and compare those against my student id records to see if anyone is underage and make them uncomfortable. sure, maybe i'm acting like whitey bulger, but it's important for t's pub to be comfortable in the bu community. we scratch each other's backs.

Wondering if a culture remedy involves integrating student athletes into the general population more than they presently are, or is further separation and monitoring required?
As far removed as I am from the scene, I have never liked what I have heard about the entire culture surrounding the hockey players. What will the administration do to build a better, more supportive culture?- one that I can feel comfortable sending my daughter into? How will this be integrated with the hockey program and how will the BU approach to recruiting change? I want student athletes here who understand the privilege and opportunity in front of them. These kids need to have an understanding about their obligation to those who played before them, alums, and current students. Enough of this "steppingstone" mentality.

i want to know if nicastro and friends were walking around sticking their hands down the front of girl's pants.
i believe mr T's probably wants to keep letting in kids who spend money and get drunk. if i bother underage kids enough that they don't go, i think he'd rather rat out a kid groping women so he can have the beer money. if four or so hockey players are doing that nightly and nobody is telling them to stop - that's a problem i need to stop.

That depends. If this does not get plead out and goes to trial it all becomes public information. Futhermore any investigations by BU could be suponead by the prosecution or defense and used in trial.

Is t's pub owned by BU? If so, I have no Problem putting BUPD in front of there. After all, if the bouncers are former hockey players (some are), they won't be as harsh on fellow terriers. But yes, Mookie, I'm all for letting the pub shape up or sweat it out.
