Re: Boston Universtiy 2011-2012 Part IV: Dont stop fighting til the fight is done!
Agreed mostly with Mookie's take. I don't like the silence coming out of the U aside from the repeated "isolated incidents" we've been hearing. I'm not saying they compromise an investigation but as has been said I'd like to hear that 1) supervision of these kids from now to year end just went through the roof, and 2) the school, and specifically the President's office and not the athletic department, is interveiwing players, coaches, fellow dorm room residents, and basically anybody else who has a relevant story to tell.
I happen to think Bob Brown has done a good job at BU. I don't hold him responsible for not doing more back in December because it seemed like Parker did the right thing (immediate dismissal) and it looked like an isolated incident. Now he needs to take over and start ordering the fix. If anybody in the athletic program can't handle that, they need to quit. The school is far, far bigger than the hockey program and this is beyond ridiculous now.
Lastly, while I agree 100% that the team needs someone to get these kids in line, I have to wonder about what these idiots are thinking. Almost all of us got boozed up when we were that age. I know of no one personally who ever got lugged for a crime against a female after a party. I'm not sure any of these players will be able to make a living playing hockey after college is over, so I can't fathom where this sense of entitlement comes from. What jack@ sses. That's why they ought to waive an NCAA invite. It going to be real tough rooting for this team, especially with the suspicion that somebody knew Fidel was out of control but nobody thought to inform the coaches about it.
