Mookie's eyes are a lot worse than advertised

where did mookie say that parker waited to shake hands? mookie said he saw parker let the nu staff know (as best as he could wag) that he wasn't gonna hang around and give vincent the chance to pull rank again... which is what he did.

mookie still saw what happened.

Yeah, but as I also said...the Top 16 isn't good enough because you have to allow for a "non" Top 16 team winning a conference tournament and bumping someone out. Even if it IS possible, it's very unlikely that we get in unless we get to the championship game.

Currently, 3 ECAC teams are in the top 16 and Niagara is in the top 16. Of course, there's the chance for an upset winner, but I'm just stating that going on hunches and assumptions is no way to evaluate the PWR. At this point, without all conference series' next week determined (I don't think), it's not possible to determine what BU "needs" to do to ensure a bid.

We can only control what we can control, so the only thing that matters to root for are BU wins, and running the table is the only way to guarantee it, but from a purely statistical perspective, it is not the only way in, and I would not call it very unlikely that the only way in is to do so.

I'm not disagreeing with you...but the focus should be on winning and the rest will take care of itself. They control their own destiny...so "just win, baby!"

This I agree with!

nieto has at least 2 games to get 3 pts and reach 100
megan needs 2 goals for 50

nice streak going, 4 out of 5. You guys must be feeling a lot better about the team. Time for Merrimack to assume the missionary position that they do so well for you. It's all good , see you at the Garden if we can get there:eek:.........#KeepParker ;).

OK...The competition hasn't been exactly overwhelming in terms of quality the last week or two, but this team does seem to be improving. Their ability to break it out of the zone is much improved, they are not taking many dumb penalties, Oksanen actually looks quite decent, and Gill is moving his feet all of a sudden. Lane, O'Regan and even Kurker (aka YIP-lite) are having an impact. If this team wins the next two (please god...no reason for 500 minutes of hockey like we had last year) and gets to 20-15-2...I'll apologize to Jack right here on this board. I'm not saying I wouldn't rather have Quinn or Sullivan but...getting to 20 wins, getting to the Garden and perhaps making the NCAAs in no small achievement for any year. Now if they only beat Harvard once or twice...

Any idea if Priviterra sees the ice again? How's Noonan? I quite liked Ronan though. He can skate and keeps the game simple. What this fan wants to see in a young defenseman.

We usually agree on most things, but apologizing to Jack is not something I would consider doing unless and until we start making the NCAA's more years than we miss it, make a Frozen Four at least once every five years, and stop losing multiple players in consecutive seasons. I saw improvement in the level of effort this year, the problem (after the 10-5 start) was more of a "forgetting how to play hockey" problem. What triggered it is a mystery to all of us, but this team set too many dubious marks for me to feel good about them just for making it to the Garden.

I hope as much as anyone that this team stays on their recent positive path and makes the NCAA's. But doing so would not make me feel ANY better about retaining Jack as a coach.

I don't disagree. The turn around, however modest, was necessary because of how poorly the team played in Jan-Feb. As my Grandfather used to say, "Most of life's problems are self-inflicted." So when they stunk for awhile that starts at the top, with Jack. Now that they're playing better...that's also on him. It would have been better, as you say, if Parker's squads play more consistently night in and night out and year in and year out.

They better not! I'll be at Agganis for Fri and Sat.

But, but the power mathie number cruncher dudes say we'd be better off losing the Merrimack to keep them a TUC. Bomber confused*

Home ice again? How can you fire Parker off such a remarkable season where he almost led you guys to a 20 W RS all the while kicking some bad apples out but let them leave under the guise of "attempting a professional career"?

That's right, you can't! #KeepParker

:D

Re: Boston University season thread - strike 3! last man there turn out the lights.

John Buccigross just tweeted that Parker will announce his retirement tomorrow.

It is true, the time has come. Get your tickets for this weekend.

is it true he got caught having sex in the penalty box after last weekend's game.

Re: Boston University season thread - strike 3! last man there turn out the lights.

I'd recommend not waiting on getting tickets for this weekend, this announcement likely will bring out lots of people to see his last home games.
