From a reliable source at ESPN. Jack Parker to announce his retirement on Monday.

This is NOT a joke...my friend who works there just called me (maybe someone else has already posted this somewhere). I think the speculation that he didn't retire before this season because it would have made it look as though it was a result of the investigation is most likely right on.

Interesting timing, though...perhaps some extra motivation for one final "magic" playoff run???

I'd recommend not waiting on getting tickets for this weekend, this announcement likely will bring out lots of people to see his last home games.

It is true, the time has come. Get your tickets for this weekend.

Are students on break? As you must know, the QFs are a terrible draw all around the league. Guess we'll see how much of an impact this has on attendance at Agganis against Merrimack. Honestly, wouldn't shock me if it doesn't have a big impact especially since it's not a case where this was known well in advance (like at the beginning of the year).

Seems like odd timing, but then again, could lead to a run.

Heard this as well! Wonder what the details are and if they have a successor in the works.

ESPN is now reporting they have the story wrong and the press conference tomorrow will announce Parker has signed a 10 year extension...

we are down to the wire though with the roster. there is nothing left in the ole' pantry. 18 bodies on the roster and 18 dress. now we can't even skate out a goalie

if a 'ray lewis' is repeated, it'll be the new Miracle

Agreed. Getting to the HE Championship game and losing a first round NCAA game would be an accomplishment at this point. I just want them to play hockey that will make us all proud.

we have recruits coming in. i imagine we still have powers and bavo making trips. we have employee #6 and his bro now thinking what? 'clean slate'? or something else. do the guys who could have left early (nieto, goonan, ??) use this as a clean break, or what to come and be a part of the start of a new legacy?

have feelers been sent out? will this draw out? i'm sure the worthless admin will want a hand in this, and at what costs?

mookie is counting only 210days to the 2013/14 season opener.....

ok, so he is going to retire back to BG and get his old job of running the zamboni. good luck. buddy is reaching that age as well.

this makes sense with peeps kinda knowing this was coming and planning... but then the succession plan.. BIG issue, obviously.
