My friend showed this to me a few minutes ago, figured a few people here would like this alternate angle of the post game festivities.

anyone have an idea on the basketball schedule for this season?? i'm thinking of getting season tickets. (thinking of added the girl's hockey too to see the female sidney crosby :D (and NO, that IS NOT redundant!:mad: ))

Does anyone know if there is any back story to the cancellation of the Swedish U-20 game? A scheduling conflict seems a little vague.

Now my boy Big Swede will have to wear his Viking helmet and goat skin pants to the Merrimack game...it won't be the same.

I have no idea about the bball schedule or TV schedule and probably won't until they're released. Working on getting an answer about the Sweden game, but my guess is that it has more to do with the Swedes than BU.

2 very specific issues came up about Sweden hame, one possibly could have been resolved, other no chance. That is why it happened.

And what were those issues? You seem to have a lot of info that you just keep to yourself...

Stop being selfish and fill the rest of us in. Did their plane run out of fuel? Customs won't let them bring sticks into the country? Or did the coach cancel the trip after your 15th call due to fear his players maybe harmed?

Now what I know about college b-ball would echo in a thimble, but there are a few A10 teams on that list. Is BU angling to join that conference?

That's been discussed a lot, at least by fans, for several years now. I would think/hope that BU would join the A10 in a heartbeat if a spot ever opened up. Problem is the A10 is actually the A14 right now. Either someone would have to leave or the A10 would have to choose to expand to 16. I'm not holding my breath for either.

I think it would be a great move... if it were to ever happen. Although I heard discussions on this same topic over 15 years ago... so I'm not holding my breath either.

While I know nothing about basketball scheduling, I would guess one of the main reasons that we are often heavy on A-10 OOC games is because the geography of the two conferences overlap making travel easier. Looking back at last years schedules, almost every AE team had one or two A-10 games on their schedule.

This is true, and it's also because that's really the ceiling for teams that would be willing to go for home/home deals with BU. The only other conference in proximity is the Big East and except for maybe PC, none of them are coming to BU. BU has been angling to the A10 for years, UMass, GW, St. Bona, and St. Joes are on the schedule regularly. It's why they turned down the CAA invite back in 04-05. But until the mens bball team becomes the powerhouse of AE, the A10's not going to come knocking.
