Re: Boston University 2012 Offseason

Mary grew her story :D

I don't think she made anything up, I do think she exaggerated the severity of a few accounts, left some things intentionally vague so the reader would infer something worse than may be the case, and generally created a series of articles that slanted towards engraging the pitchfork mafia readers and the "college athletes get too much attention" crowd.

Bingo

That's what I said...

Re: Boston University 2012 Offseason

I know Rogie watched every second of the prospect game last night, so he knows this, but for those that don't...

Matt Lane was asked if he looked up to any local players (being from Rochester) and he gave the appropriate answers of Nathan Gerbe and Brian Gionta.

And BC still couldn't land him? They need to get rid of York and get a coach that can actually recruit. ;)

Ha, maybe they didn't want him ;)

If he turns out to be anything even remotely close to either one of those guys, I'm sure you guys will love him and Hockey East will hate him. :D:p

Re: Boston University 2012 Offseason

Of course, very few people, much less players, actually "look up" to either Gionta or Gerbe. Come to think of it, Gerbe may me one of the few guys that looks up to Gionta, no? What was Gerbe, 5'3"? :D

Yikes... gonna be a lot of broken wrists/hands in the practices at BU next year. :D

I guess that is one way to keep the BU players' hands to themselves.

All right folks. 6 days til hockey. No nhl. This is the only game in town. Looking forward to seeing how the goaltending plays out and which freshmen can have an immediate impact. Gonna be a fun year.
I reiterate my passionate plea to upgrade the HAA pizza.

Re: Boston University 2012 Offseason

Yeah, the timing has crept up on me, I guess since I have the 13th on the calendar as the start - it is nice to have something (albeit an exhibition) happening in less than a week.

I hope both goalies play well so that we have a solid rotation going. McKersie/Herlofsky will always be the standard in my mind, even though they had to share time with Cashman as freshmen.

I expect Nieto to lead the team in scoring, and Kurker or O'Regan to be the top freshman scorer.

I also expect that we will give up a lot of shots on goal...

nesn TV contract for 4PM Sunday games. May be good if you're on the couch. Not so much if you have tickets.
