Erroneous. But if that's what you want to believe, more power to you.

Let's tell the truth. He might have said something disparaging about one of your recruits or players. At which point, you got your panties in a bunch. Talk about typical. I've NEVER seen that before. Although I will say it is definitely good for a laugh or two so I do appreciate the Pavlovian response. Thanks for (sadly) living up to expectations.

It certainly has its pros and cons. That we agree on. IMO the politics within the program have made it a farce, however, to fulfill its main duty at times. And that is sad. Also look at how well Jimmy Hayes did when he left the program as I believe an overaged player there and did well in the USHL playoffs and picked up right from there at BC as a freshman.

Sure. But no one on this thread cares that he was "refreshingly candid" with you either. So ain't we both content. I just thought in case he dropped by and read this since the topic is of interest to him he might appreciate the comment (and maybe he wouldn't... it also helps to eliminate any personal bias as a reason for my opinion of the NTDP but I'm sure you knew that).

That's the point, chief. I didn't know it had anything to do with a charity and that was irrelevant from the start. Knowing that, it certainly isolates the creepiness of the situation

True, but dozens of people also end up in a kitchen getting ambushed by Chris Hansen and Dateline NBC cameras when he says, "Where you going? I just want to talk to you for a few minutes"... I'm just saying...

In all fairness, once I realized to whom I was responding it was apparent that he didn't need alcohol to not understand the creepiness of the situation and I edited the post without deleting the initial comment. He's like a little Rogie in training with a little blog and everything! If it wasn't so darn weird I'd say it was kind of cute. And to think I didn't even reference Jack Parker when talking about being drunk. Just think how much foam would have appeared at your mouth if that happened!!!

Wow, Nicky, quite a lengthy reply. Must have been a lull at the drive-up window.

Re: Boston University: 2010-11 part I - "so...you're saying i get a calendar??"

so it's been a REALLY long time since i've posted here, but...

Are there any sort of plans for a good chunk of people trying to head out to St. Louis for the Ice Breaker?

I'd also like to say that this message is directed more towards my age bracket.

Most people my age (waaaay younger than you:p ) that I know are planning on going to Chicago instead of St. Louis. Over the summer I was trying to convince Rewind to join me, I'm assuming that he didn't end up buying tickets though.

In short, no Michigan trip type thing.

It blew my mind today when I saw that the Harvard Ave Dunkins has an express walk up window. What college staffs that?

I hear Northeastern has a great six-year program for that.

They have a walk up express at the McDonald's next to Quincy Market. Always puzzled me why you'd go there when you could get Irish breakfast at Paddy O's down the street or bottomless cornbread at Union Oyster House.

Interesting news (for those of us that didn't drop $5K on a worse looking knockoff):

$115, expected to arrive early October.

Any idea if the little green Fenway park patch is on the back?

edit - Is there a place to pre-order online for those of us not in Boston?

What green patch? The one BC had? I doubt that one is on this jersey;) :p

Apparently not, it's through BU Barnes and Noble, maybe once they get inventory they'll put it online.

Huh - that stuck in my head, but it must have been because it was something (the only thing, really) that I really liked about the BC jerseys. *shrug* didn't go to the game, but I really like the jersey.

Lame. Thanks for the info though.

Tickets aren't the issue, they are still available.

I just can't see myself justifying paying the airfare.

That would be a nice jersey to have. If there is anyone getting an order together, where could I mail a check? :D

Store's phone number: 617-267-8484, I know they have the option to mail the jersey instead of store pickup. I just don't know if they'll take credit cards over the phone. Only one way to find out...

But you're so close to 100 straight:p

Learned today that George Parks, UMass band director, died in Ohio on his way to Michigan for the game. Sad news.

...Which got me thinking about Chris Parks. Is he no longer with BU? I don't see his name in any directory, but I guess I might have missed it.

It's beyond me why Rogie would waste his time responding to Nick the troll.

To set the record straight, Nickie no longer works at the drive in. He got a job as a Green line T driver with the pledge he will do all he can to stay away from vehicles filled with intoxicated BC hockey players unlike the driver he is replacing.

but will he refrain from texting while driving?

I have heard that Parks has left BU, what I heard was his wife got an awesome job offer in another part of the country and the family moved. Sorry to see him go, good guy. As for the UMass band director, that's a really sad story. I remember seeing the UMass band play at UConn back when they were still 1-AA, and they were out of this world good. Always wondered why they don't have a pep band at hockey games.

This from The Hockey News NHL yearbook, discussing prospects for each team:

Shattenkirk - College captain "oozes leadership" - Hmmm. This is a paraphrase, oozes leadership is a direct quote.

Coyle - "Big winger mixes size and athleticism with puck skills and a good shot".

Disappointing, gryba is a whole head taller than Liambas, I would have expected more.
