couple that with being undefeated(dont think Miami or BC are still) and add on wins on road vs Notre Dame and Wisconsin and we have a winner....

Season over. We are the champions. :p

Whoa whoa whoa whoa. Slow down there, BU hasn't won their national title yet. We declare the season to end on the morning of the 2nd Tuesday of February ("Grounddog day" for those of you who have been around a while). Sheesh!

edit - slurpees has figured it out.

Someone must have shot that groundhog with a tranquilizer in 2009!

Miami may be, though... It takes so long to get the news from Florida.

Actually the groundhog saw his shadow and predicted 8 more weeks of BU hockey.

Especially with the recent surge in Indian attacks on the Post Road and the ever-present fear of getting stuck in a mud rut with all this rain.

Slightly more seriously, I wonder how hard it was to follow college hockey back in the '70s or even earlier. Based on the coverage WCHA schools like Minnesota or Wisconsin currently get in Boston-area newspapers and on current television stations that were around forty years ago (ABC, CBS and NBC?), I gotta think a lot of times fans showed up to games knowing next to nothing about the opposing team and how their season has been going, especially when it came to the not-yet-frozen Four. I know news in general was covered much more in depth in newspapers back then than it is now, but how much was devoted to college hockey? When did national media coverage expand enough to make polls possible?

I was just discussing with family how incredible the information age has been. I don't go back as far as others on this board (I'm 41), but just seeing in the last 10 years how email and the Hockey-L database led to the AOL threads to USCHO. I remember how much I used to look forward to getting USCH Magazine and I used to watch the 30 minute weekly TV show. The Hockey News and Sporting News used to devote more time to College Hockey than they do now - I think they figure there are more dedicated sources out there now.

Hmm, trying to do a bit of history sleuthing and hitting a wall.

This listing: http://server2.maxanet.com/cgi-bin/mnlist.cgi?oberman2/39/showall

Can it be an actual game-worn? Did Kielt ever wear #2? I'm seeing #15 his freshman year and of course #5 from that point on (when Gryba became #2). Also, was RBK ever the supplier when Kielt played? Is this just a terrible replica made up by the athletic dept?

I think I was halfway through screaming the phrase when Connolly buried the pass from Chiasson on the first goal. It does work on occassion, but not enough to justify doing it as often as they do.
Lol. From my seat it was. NOOOOOO!!!! YESSSSSS!!!!
