Re: Boston University: 2010-11 part I - "so...you're saying i get a calendar??"

Really?

Coyle, Clendenning, Nieto etc were 3 of the players BC would have killed to have landed.

Coyle is better than any F BC grabbed for 10 and Clendenning any D. Both first rounders.

Time will tell when the pendulum swings back, my guess is sooner than later

Umm, didn't BC let Clendenning walk?

Also, they wouldn't have "killed" for Nieto. Don't fabricate facts, Candyvan. I'm sure they would have loved Coyle, just as I"m sure BU would have loved Kevin Hayes, Chris Kreider, and everyone else in Jerry's locker room.

ps- You are an a s s hat. Just needed to be pointed out as a matter of fact.

Seeing that they watched about 15 of his games and offered, yes, they would have killed for him.

They didn't let Clendenning walk, he forced their hand and left as quick as he could.

Must suck going thru life as a punk.

My God, you should been aborted. BC watches a ton of kids, Nieto included. Trust me when I say York is very, very happy with the the recruiting classes coming in over the next few years. You know that as well as I do so stop being a d-bag.

He forced BC's hand?? They forced his hand and when he wouldn't rule out Major Junior, BC moved on. Making up facts again? Maybe its because he found out Providence College's academics were "equal or better than BC", too.

ps- Why aren't you defending yourself on the PC thread? I assume you aren't taking up PC91's offer to head to Schneider tonight to meet him? Clown.

Wow you just know the puck is dropping tonight on the season with King Jaffe Jofa, King of Zamunda back in the house. And yankeefat (Oha?) too. All we need is a drunken limey to complete the trifecta.

Wrong again, mr "I spread bs I read on line in my moms basement only"

Amazing how the major junior talks immediatly talked after he moved on from BC...

When they offer someone a 4/4 and the coaches, plural as in all 3, go to the kids games and offer, that means they want. Yes, they watch kids a ton but dont fly to the mid west and make offers.

Now you speak for who the coaches got and who they are happy with? What a fool

It's not terribly difficult to understand. They had a commitment from the kid. Of course they wanted him Sherlock. And they had him. Then when they found his commitment was soft, they told him to go pound sand. Not terribly difficult to understand.

I'm sure BC was just ready to slit their wrists when they could not get Nieto. Really, I"m surprised they didn't just drop hockey as a sport. What is the ratio of BC vs. BU recruiting battles that BU has won lately? BC is owning BU overall.

Regarding Clendenning, youre embarrassingly wrong as usual.

Clearly it is for candyvan.

Candy, I'm shocked you didn't break the puckstar's news to us by saying something like "he's going back to college..."

http://www.boston.com/sports/colleges/mens_hockey/articles/2010/10/08/bus_saponari_going_to_bc/

Saponari to BC story. Not motivated by "spite". Yeah right.

I wonder if this will have any impact on the York/Parker relationship?

It will be exciting.

I hope Vinny has learned his lesson.

On a personal note, this is mildly screwing up my framed front page of the Globe from the day after the 09 championship.

It reads: "A joyous Vinny Saponari is the first to know that BU is the national champion."

Everytime I look at it I'll think of BC a little now, You screwed me again BC!

This is also good news for BC. Last time a BU player left BU for another HE school (B. Walsh) Maine won the title.

Not that BC needs any help winning titles these days...

In any case I hope Vinny turns it around.

Hello? is anyone in there?

When they asked him what his intentions were, he said, "I am not sure, still considering Major Junior". I.e. I am not committed to the BC program.

I think that sums it up. If he wanted to go to BC he would have kissed the ring and said I am 100% on board. He could have cared less and wanted to go elsewhere, which is exactly what he did.

If HE wanted to have played at BC, he would be there today. The families at that level know what to say and play the game well.

BU picked up 3 first round NHL draft picks in this yars class alone, 1 being possible top 10, the other might be the best freshman in HE(neck and neck with Kreider) in a few years. Had a hat trick first game.

BU getting 3 nhl first round draft picks in one class does not look to me like they are getting killed in recruiting by anyone.,

Has BC done that in the past 50 or so recruiting classes?

Re: Boston University: 2010-11 part I - "so...you're saying i get a calendar??"

Publicly, besides the distribution of the Puckstar video to someone who put it online, yes. Privately, I know you're smart enough to know that wasn't all.

I'm a little confused here. So I am to believe that Parker released some of the info to the media, but not all? Some of you have inside info and I haven't seen anything else mentioned...

As for hokydad, don't have the energy to refute all of his BS yet again, but all I will say is YES, Parker still gets great recruits to BU, but that does not take away from the VERY SIMPLE point about who runs the BEST program in the east and in the country.

ie - I am not committed to the college game. He WAS committed to BC... had he chosen to play college when he was asked to finally figure it out. Big difference.

That's the difference between BC and everyone else. York doesn't care about where they were drafted or will be drafted. He cares about how well they will do in college and fit in to the program.

For the most part, since Jerry started right from the beginning getting Reasoner, Farkas, Mottau, Bellefeuille, etc, he has been cleaning Parker's clock in recruiting most year. And a lot of Jack's great classes didn't pan out (Maiser, McConnell, Whitney, etc). Each one has busts but there have been a big more on the other end of Comm Ave.

vs. Toronto? LOL

BU is getting 3 first round picks? Yup, we'll see what happens there. We all know that first round NHL picks guarantees NCAA championships and you can't win with guys who aren't drafted in the first round.

ps- Again, you are an idiot

Pendulums do swing and it will so again in BU's favor.

Re: Boston University: 2010-11 part I - "so...you're saying i get a calendar??"

I'm not a BU or BC fan, but have always liked BU more and rooted for them in the Beanpot, but to argue that Parker has recruited just as well over the last 15 years as York would be laughable. Two of Parker's best players were walk-ons.

BC has recruited the smaller, geared towards college success players, but have still had a ton of NHL draft picks and players that have moved on the NHL. BC has had far fewer down years in the last 15 years than BU, which is one good way of measuring how well recruiting is going because it shows BC has more depth and can lose players without suffering as much.

Will Parker let these 3 run wild and break rules without consequences like he did with Warsofsky just because he thinks they might be good?

You never know.

Will probably spend more time keeping them out of jeeps with bottles of whiskey and beer cans... those trolleys can be annoying

Since you know everything, tell me when. The pendulum has been in BC's favor since the late 90s.

maybe in 2009

natl champions
hockey east reg season champs
hockey east play off champs
beanpot champs

maybe 12 Beanpot titles in their head to head 17 years?

BC has had just as many flops

Pineault, Petrecki and several others. Thats just the P's
