Re: Boston University: 2010-11 part I - "so...you're saying i get a calendar??"

That's a bit of a stretch. Hammer's article said they were supportive through the whole process. It didn't say they suggested or urged him to play at BC or anything. There's a difference between supporting and suggesting.

They certainly didnt tell him not to, that's for sure. Personally, I think its great. You never see this type of thing in amateur sports. Its like Damon going to the Yankees a little.

Saponari has gotta be ****ed that he got the boot and Warsofsky didn't. He'll play those games vs. BU like it's for his life. I may have to check that out.

I keep seeing these Warsofsky comments on here, on our blog, on the Freep's site. Can we put an end to this nonsense once and for all? Whether or not Warsofsky was at the bar that night is irrelevant. We know there were 13-15 players there. That's not why Saponari got booted. He got booted for "cumulative instances" that culminated in him and Trivino being late for a bike ride that was punishment for that drinking incident. No one got suspended or dismissed for that one night alone, so enough with the "Warsofsky was there, too" BS. Warsofsky wasn't late to the bike ride and he didn't have "cumulative instances." I'm not trying to defend Warsofsky or bash Saponari or anything like that- I just want people to stick to the facts.

This x a million. But then Noreaster would have no reason to exist, would he/she. I do feel now that Noreaster is one of the Saponaris. Just a hunch.

And Rogie, how could you not recall the reasons why Milton was dismissed?

So why is Trivino still on the team?

Warsofsky was one of the two people who set up the night of drunken debauchery so he should have gotten booted too.

Huh. An actual response!! Never had one of those before. I think we're getting to you Noreaster. :)

What part of the word "cumulative" do you not understand? Obviously Saponari did more than go out that night and then show up late for the bike ride. If those are the only things he did to get kicked off, then Trivino would've been gone, too.

I'll pass on the reason for his expulsion, but can anyone tell me what his nickname was at BC? According to the BC Media Guide or game program, I can't remember which.

Back to the Ice Breaker for a moment. Has anyone else tried to buy the games on this site?:

http://ppv.hockeyprimetime.com/

When I try to add it to my cart, it adds something that's $0.00 and never mentions the games.

Am I doing something wrong?

A kid from Georgia is going to turn down an opportunity with the defending national champions because of eight career games he played on the other side of the rivalry?

.

i hear the priests at bc like to party like a puckstar...

*crickets*

As for Saponari, what were the "cumulative instances"? The drinking incident and then being late for a bike ride? That's it?

Publicly, besides the distribution of the Puckstar video to someone who put it online, yes. Privately, I know you're smart enough to know that wasn't all.

so he had a drinking incident and was late for a bike ride? if that's as bad as it got and the coaches think he's matured...welcome aboard.

I question his maturity, when his motivation for a two year commitment seems to be driven by "revenge" (his word). Strenuous situations do cause people to age quickly though, so I wouldn't be shocked if he came back with a much more solid head on his shoulder, although that isn't exactly saying much:p

Re: Boston University: 2010-11 part I - "so...you're saying i get a calendar??"

I think a guy like Saponari could flourish in a run and gun offensive system like the one they employ up there. It was interesting to read in that BU blog that he consulted some of his teammates and they suggested he should play at BC. I wish I was there when Parker found out. I bet he blew a gasket.

BC continues to do show its absolute dominance over the BU/Parker in all facets of a program. Its starting to become like the "hammer and nail" rivalry. What a facial this was! Until Parker leaves or York leaves this is how it will be and BU fans will just have to sit back and take it.

Before I get too excited over what this means as far as Jerry versus Jack, I'm going to wait until I see if 1) Saponari behaves well enough over the next year to not screw this up (I suspect he has learned his lesson and will be a good boy) and 2) whether he actually makes a big impact on the team.

Last time we dumped a contributing player (Bennett), he ended up back in D-1 and we ended up winning the NCAA title. The point being that anything that happens regarding Saponari's performance going forward does not mean that Parker did the wrong thing. I would argue that getting this wake-up call will be the best thing for Vinny in the long run. And based on what I'm reading in terms of attitude on the team, I would say the move will benefit BU hockey as well.

Really?

Coyle, Clendenning, Nieto etc were 3 of the players BC would have killed to have landed.

Coyle is better than any F BC grabbed for 10 and Clendenning any D. Both first rounders.

Time will tell when the pendulum swings back, my guess is sooner than later

Ahh, Jofa. Welcome back. Good to see you're already in mid season Jack-bashing form. Now it's really hockey season. Have you bought your season tickets to BC yet so you can follow your favporite team?

I forget who said it, but this is college hockey's version of Damon going to the Yankees. Man is that going to be fun when he plays at BU for the first time. I remember how obnoxious he was when he scored goals, I can only imagine how his reaction will be if he scores on BU.

Get your popcorn ready.
