As far as the comment after yours go - like I said, you (the BU posters) seemed to care about Holly's injury so I thought you (unspecified BU posters) might want to cheer on her teammates who one could assume would be a bit upset in their playoff game. I would not have bothered posting had it been a road game, even if just up the road with the same opponent, but under the circumstances, it didn't seem off-topic. (BTW, I think the BU women may be the only HE team w/o their own thread on the women's forum though I'm sure their fans are aware of the game.)

If I was still in Boston and couldn't get to the UVM game I would definitely go. I liked going to the women's games, BU's team is competing while still being very young as a program and there are often afternoon games. I went to a few games at BC, too, was actually quite fun (and interesting to see even more empty seats show up at Conte than usual :p). I also tried posting in the BU women's thread but of course no one else posts there. That's just the way it is.

But no one from BU posts there. If there's nothing wrong with discussing Lorms' injury, there's nothing wrong with mentioning (or even discussing) their playoff game Sunday.

I also enjoy going to women's games. Unfortunately, I've only been able to catch one this season due to work and covering road games. I had made it to at least a handful per season my freshman and sophomore year. Although they can't hit, the games are still exciting and the skill level's still pretty high. Plus, WBA's stuffed pretzels are awesome.

If I could have chosen one day to be at WBA, it would have been Chili cookoff day (senior day, I believe)

Just watch out for Shelton... they called it the "Scott Tenorman Special Chili!":eek:

he is just an ahole. He only cares about it when people get hurt and is sassy when you try to talk about anything he doesnt want to talk about ie women's hockey

My comments more come from the perspective of when i was still a student, there was an upswell among some - both at the administrative and student level - to promote the lesser sports by insinuating that going to just hockey games makes you a bandwagoner and less of a BU fan. This may or may not have been the intention, but it was something that aggravated me to no end. Just because I found Dennis Wolff's slowdown, pick and do nothing then chuck up a 30 foot hail mary offense boring, and women's hockey to be unenjoyable for me, I was made to feel by a few to be a bandwagoning mens hockey fan, which was as far from the case as possible. I'm sure this was not her intention, but the "both games are DVR-able" comment rubbed me the wrong way as I interpreted it as a 'tape the men's hockey games and go watch another sport for once,' kind of comment (I'll be traveling to UVM too so it's irrelevant.) Again, probably not the intention, and no hard feelings about it, just hit a nerve.

You know, I don't come to this board to read about women's hockey. I see no problem with his comment. If you want to talk about women's hockey, go to the appropriate forum. Want to talk about the Red Sox? Go to a Sox board. Want to chat about politics? There are forums for that too. These pages should be reserved for BU Men's Hockey so that people don't have to read through 10 pages of irrelevant information to read about the team.

Its bad enough that certain non-BU fans spend the majority of their free time trying to derail these threads.

I'm going to clog this thread some more with a BU related question. Are the two Redlihs on the Latvia team related to Jekabs?

Yes, they are his two brothers.

I think they all play for Dinamo Riga. An article from 2008 had all three on the Latvian National Team.

i second this post... it's just unfortunate that some of us have to graduate and not be able to stay in the boston area

while i am not going to imply that the men and women hockey games are the same thing, i was able to able to attend a handful of women's games while a student, including basically the entire season my senior year. they're quite entertaining to watch, if one actually makes out to WBA :)

Whats the history with National Champions not making the NCAA tournament the next year. Hopefully this doesn't happen but if it does will we be the first?

Just the most recent. I don't have the stats, and for once I actually don't feel like looking it up, but I'm pretty sure it's actually happened a bunch of times. Especially if you go back to the days when only 4 teams made the tournament.
