It sounds like she will be just fine and play next year

For her sake I hope this time your "_____ is fine and will play next ____" statement is true. That would be great news.

Since he got that from the article, I think it is actually correct this time.

Well, the article said they were optimistic, he said she's fine. Two different things, but I guess we can't expect that level of differentiation.

That's true. But like you said, it's a matter of degrees, and my expectations are low. ;)

Tweaked my Frozen Fenway print a little (on white/red trim) based on a suggestion from a BU fan:

I wouldn't estimate about Lorms returning.... Durocher has been known to be very careful with his players, especially with neck injuries (see Koller, who was skating in January, but didn't return).

Lorms might miss the first part of the season.

Yeah, and hopefully within 3 days butt error doesn't just post virtually the opposite prognosis and have that one turn out to be right again. :(

The whole part about her putting the bu jersey on again made it sound like she would come back and be just fine

He said, "We're real optimistic she's going to put it back on." He's showing optimism; he's not saying she's definitely going to be back. She's in intensive care and might need surgery. To even try and set a timetable for her return, or to even speculate that she'll be fine and be able to return, seems a little silly to me. Durocher put it perfectly -- playing hockey is far from the most important thing here.

Correct. anal wrongdoing has clearly never spoken to BD.

Edit: can anyone describe the injury? I wish DFP had explained exactly what happened. Went into the boards, what?

I was listening to the wtbu broadcast of the game and from my understanding of it, she had a very heavy fall with her back and head hitting the ice at full impact. I think I remember the announcers saying that she rolled onto her front and then stayed that way until the stretcher game. She was conscious leaving on the stretcher though.

Paging TommyNobles, paging TommyNobles...

I talked to one of the WTBU guys who was there and he said that her and a Maine player just collided in the slot area going for a loose puck. Then, basically what Bumbles just described -- she hit her head hard on the ice while falling back, rolled over and then didn't move. He said she could move her arms, though, while she was down, so that's good.

That must be incredibly scary. I hope she's alright. She's a grinder. One of the toughest workers on the team. My hope is that she is in some way possible to get out of the hospital ASAP. Thinking about playing right now is truly a butt error.

So now that y'all are all interested in the women's team - go support them (or even better support the BC team :-p) on Sunday at 3:00 pm at Walter Brown in their Hockey East quarterfinal game (single game elimination).

Men's game at UVM, women's game vs. BC and (hopefully) US in the gold medal game all at the same time? Holy hockey!

The first and last games are televised, out of town and can be DVR'ed. The women's game is not televised and is at Walter Brown which y'all seem sentimental about.

He'll be at UVM for the game, you know covering it and all. Is there any particular method to your snarkiness or is that just how you roll?

I'm not the one being snarky - he didn't specify himself and appeared to be listing the 3 games that BU fans might be interested in.

As far as the comment after yours go - like I said, you (the BU posters) seemed to care about Holly's injury so I thought you (unspecified BU posters) might want to cheer on her teammates who one could assume would be a bit upset in their playoff game. I would not have bothered posting had it been a road game, even if just up the road with the same opponent, but under the circumstances, it didn't seem off-topic. (BTW, I think the BU women may be the only HE team w/o their own thread on the women's forum though I'm sure their fans are aware of the game.)
