Re: Boston University 2009-2010 Season Thread III: From the Beanpot until the end...

But that's the thing. No one is discussing him but you. The only time we discuss this kid is to point out to you how stupid and inane your "news" about him is. Honestly, most of us don't care at all whether or not this kid is real, we are here to talk about the team, how they are playing, and yes, occasionally alumni and/or legitimate recruits. But there is a separate thread for that, too, so anyone not interested doesn't have to read it.

What news about him. All i have done is give my opinion about the situation and him just like everyone else. Is that not what a forum is for?

If you people would stop quoting him, it'd make the "ignore" feature I've utilized that much more effective.

Thanks in advance.

I'm still laughing at the idea of Bonnie Blair as a figure skater!

Lulz!

She was a speed skater and the idea of her body type out there doing triple lutzes in sequins is just too much.

Whoops, I didn't even realize I wrote figure skater. My bad. Honestly, I skimmed through this article and when I saw Boston University it caught my eye.

Junior league i find you so funny. I was originally taking about when corey broke his ankle. You were pretty hurt that you werent the one to find out first. And i only am passing on what i found because i thought it was interesting because we were discussing him earlier. And what would be this more credible source that you are a reporter for?

First, I'm not ruling out the possibility that you were just throwing **** at the wall and something finally stuck. Clearly that's what you were doing after the game when you said he was fine.

Second, where did I say or imply that I was somehow hurt by you posting it first? I could not care less if a poster beats me on a scoop. I'm not around the team every day, and I don't stalk them, so I won't even pretend that I'm closer to them than anyone else. In a way, a poster getting a scoop actually helps me because there's a 90% chance I'm gonna see it before anyone at any other news outlet. Thus, I'll still be the first person to break the story on a news site.

Third, to answer your last question, The Daily Free Press. There's a link to our blog in my signature. Feel free to check it out. We're far from perfect, but we're a hell of a lot more credible than Bleacher Report.

I didn't even know these forums had an ignore feature, haha. At least I have a perfect subject to try it out on!

You are claiming a free bu newspaper that is everyone third and sometimes last choice when picking up a paper around campus (wsj, nyt, metro) as your credible news source that you work for free at and that requests writers in every paper.

Well Junior League i applaud you. You sure have accomplished greatness

Yeah, seriously.

I just strolled on down to the Ignore List function, and I have to say, what these fellows are saying is true: It's a wonderful feature. I've only added the one poster, and already it's like a smog has been lifted. Much better than Cats.

And here I was thinking we had those guys beat. Also, I think more people read the Globe than the Metro, but what do I know?

As for me, the Freep is far from the best outlet I have worked for/am currently working for. However, I love covering the hockey team for the Freep and don't at all mind not getting paid for it. I do it because I enjoy it, not because I want anything in return.

When I was a student, I picked up the Freep. Maybe the quality of coverage isn't the same as a real newspaper, yeah, but it was relevant stuff while I went to school there. I would get the Globe when BU used to have it. Didn't care one bit about Wall St Journal or what the hell the NY Times had to say. Metro is crap.

You guys do a great job! Sometimes I can't go to the games, so I enjoy your live blog while listening to 1510. Just ignore him, remember he is a freshmen so its first time away from home.

Re: Boston University 2009-2010 Season Thread III: From the Beanpot until the end...

The Freep covers a different base than the Globe/NYT/WSJ (metro? ***?). They focus on university news, which 99% of the time isn't covered elsewhere. While they've had their quirks, and a they make an error here and there, it is a reputable place to get news at BU. Bleacherreport is worse than wikipedia. I can go write an article on there right now on how Pat Kane is actually leaving the NHL and committing to BU and I could post it, at least wikipedia has people who read through stuff and catch some errors. So again, go away.

Awfully scary, hope she recovers. Sad to see a hockey career end early, but life is more than hockey and hopefully this doesn't hamper that as Durocher said.

It sounds like she will be just fine and play next year
