Up to 19th in the PWR...
For anybody who feels like caring (there seems to be some argument about that).

So to Dookie, To Be Announced, Starlet, Range Rover, National League, Slushees, Butt-Error, Candy Land, David St Catherine, Rogie Over and Out, Brian Sentry Gun, Shredder, BU Phlam, Todd English and the countless other Terrier fans, I'm sorry.

I feel so left out...

Frozen Fenway game reprise on NHL Channel at 8 pm EST tonight

Why watch a reprise when you can watch USA/Canada live in the Olympics at 7:45?

As I type this, USA scored less than a minute into the game.

Re: Boston University 2009-2010 Season Thread III: From the Beanpot until the end...

update below....

nu's loss to bc this afternoon flipped that comparison to our favor (better record vs COp now) -- though we would have won that anyhow under the assumption that the boys win out the RS.

Nights like tonight are awesome nights to be a BU hockey fan... I mean sure, they're amazing for every US hockey fan out there but...

Drury scores a goal
Epic documentary on Rizzo/OC/Silky...
They constantly interview Rizzo after the game

I like how these nights remind me that even though the team is just above .500 right now the guys that came before them have already done things that we'll never forget (even if we weren't alive when they happened!).

Come on, he didn't look that bad. :p I also hope everyone caught SportsCenter's 30th anniversary feature this morning. Gave me goosebumps all over.

Did anybody tape the SC?

I don't know whether to edit it to Silky or leave it because it's hilarious...

Re: Boston University 2009-2010 Season Thread III: From the Beanpot until the end...

Hey, I was reading an article on nhl.com. http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=518473. It was talking about a former figure skater who was at the games and mentioned her nephew committed to BU.

This is from the article: "Another legendary multiple gold-medal winner, speed skater Bonnie Blair, is happily here in Vancouver watching hockey and, of course, both long- and short-track speed skating."

"She also has a nephew who played for Colorado College during a NCAA Frozen Four tournament and another who just signed on to play for Boston University."

I was wondering if anybody knew who he is?

I don't think that's right. The nephew who played for CC is Scott Polaski. His cousin Garrett Allen, another nephew of Blair's, has committed to Denver for 2011.

And no, I didn't know any of that before looking it up.

Bonnie Blair's nephew on that CC team is Scott Polaski.

I am trying to find out if Scott Polaski has a cousin who also plays hockey and what his name is.

Edit: Victory is Federal League's. His google-fu is strong.

NHL.com is a real website, not some website someone can write their own articles. I obviously did not write the article. I was just wondering who the player was. Thanks for your input though.

Yikes

lol, It's just that kids name gets to me. I looked like an idiot a few weeks ago, telling someone a story about maybe a future recruit. I guess I will think twice about internet sources.

bleacherreport is less reliable of a source than wikipedia.

Hey now, I've fixed the hockey capacities of both Matthews and Agganis this week on wikipedia... it's getting better all the time!

Did anybody tape the SC?

It's on again this morning for anyone who missed it or anyone who wants to tape it (I can't).

Edit: It's actually a shortened version of what was shown yesterday. Yesterday went from the exhibition games all the way through. Today started at the Soviet game.

Off topic here, but I'll ask anyway. Does anyone think USA's victory over Canada was the massive upset the NCB announcers declared it to be? One of them stated it was the biggest Olympic upset since the 1980 victory over the USSR. A surprise maybe, but at this point US teams are talented enough to beat anyone without the outcome being a dramatic upset. Yes/no?

It's the first time in 50 years the USA team has beaten the Canadian team. It's a pretty darn big upset. Of course, I'm going to stop short of saying it's bigger than 1980...
