Boston College Women's Hockey 2010-2011: Schaus In Da Haus

Re: Boston College Women's Hockey 2010-2011: Schaus In Da Haus

5-2 win vs Syracuse. Anyone see it?
Just returning home after viewing the weekend's games for BC. All in all, pretty impressive regarding the speed of all and contribution by many; including the freshman class. All three offensive lines put points on the board and all defensive pairings were solid. My earlier post shared that now was the time for the team to excel and after a rather slow start at Colgate on Friday evening, the team really came alive. Perhaps first game jitters or travel legs or something, but a dominant third period resulted in a 4-0 tilt versus Colgate.
Against Syracuse, I thought the Eagles had the better of the play and opportunities in the first period although they trailed on the scoreboard on a highlight type goal by the Syracuse player who deaked two players, performed an Eberle type toe drag and sniped a shot just under the crossbar for the loan first period goal. The Eagles clearly dominated play in the second period and consistently put pressure on the Syracuse defense. It all came together for the Eagles in the third period as they scored 3 goals in about 5 minutes to pretty much put the game away. Speed, pressure and control are the words that best described the teams efforts.
Off to a great start and next week is on the road in a Hockey East bout with Vermont.
Go Eagles.

Folks, this is going to be a fun year. Strap in.

Agreed - hopefully they stay focused and take care of business next weekend so they'll be 4-0 the first time I get a chance to see them @ Quinnipiac.

No luck. Anyone know the score?

EDIT: 3-0 win!

Stack, Stack, Wasylk the goals. The first two were PPGs.

Holy smokes... those two are pretty good, no?

Yep, although I guess we'll see how the latter fares as the competition stiffens. Still, nice to see someone not named Stack racking up some points.

Strong group of new freshman, maturity of upper classwomen and return of olympians are creating a winnng formula thus far. Two shutouts in first 3 games (excluding exhibition game). Strengthening defense and strong goaltending; seems like 2008 season all over again. Hoping for similar results. Go Eagles.

Win #4 of the year. 4-1 Eagles.

Vell - looks like it's mostly you and me thus far on the recent threads, but with more victories will come more posters. Solid performance by BC on Saturday with double the shots of Vermont. Schaus continues to make big saves that keep BC's momentum going. Good balance scoring and a big difference this year thus far is the DEFENSE is generating offense.
Will look to Grant to break out the "ole trumphet" next week at Quinny and bring back years of memories as he plays the BC fight song when the team enters the ice. Strongly suggest he passes on his hallmark "three blind mice" chorus when the refs enter the ice. Go BC!

Quinny isn't looking good for me because of the 5pm start time, and I am not pleased at all.

I really hope I can make it to QU on Friday. It's looking murky at the moment.

Is anyone driving down to the game from the Boston area? I can meet you wherever and chip for gas, tolls and what have you. I planned on taking the train down but a $100+ round trip? Ehhh, as much as I'm looking forward to seeing this game, I'm not looking forward to it THAT much. Haha.

Really wish I could go, however I have an appointment that afternoon and I have a feeling it's going to involve a lot of denture adjustments... unlikely I'd be able to be done by 2:30
