Boston College Women's Hockey 2010-2011: Schaus In Da Haus

Re: Boston College Women's Hockey 2010-2011: Schaus In Da Haus

Score could have been easily 7 - 1 if it were not for some spectacular Yale goaltending. BC was swarming and clicking on many cylinders. Last goal for BC was an empty netter, so there were a few moments of concern in the 3rd period when BC was just up by 1 and were also shorthanded. Good news is there was plenty of depth and energy in the 3rd period to close the win out. Last two games BC has seen some excellent goaltending from their opponents. Makes them realize what their opponents go through when facing BC goaltending. Off to Maine for a big HE game.

Big win 3-1 over Yale. Shots 52-18 BC... yikes.

Boston College recruit Alex Carpenter won IIHF top forward and was one of USA's top three after the USA beat Canada 5-2 (EN) for the gold in the U18 tournament.

Someone needs to share a little love for the Eagles for their 6 - 1 beat down on Maine; so here it goes. Historically, BC has struggled on their visits to Orono. No one can quite put their finger on it, but it is a long trip, some debate whether the rink is smaller than others and Maine always seems to get up for the Eagles visit. Regardless, this time around BC displayed an excellent team effort with many contributing in the scoring. With many of the non conference games now behind them, BC's focus on HE competition will be Job 1. At this point, it looks like a BC/BU race to the finish line, with Providence and Northeastern trailing by a bit. Next few weeks should be interesting; particularly the game with BU next weekend. Go Eagles!

I may come up for BC/BU. Still can't believe I haven't been to a game this year :(

Hope you get to see a good game.

I was going to say something snarky instead, but I've been a jerk to you too much lately.:o

Re: Boston College Women's Hockey 2010-2011: Schaus In Da Haus

BU 4- BC-0
should have been 6/7- 0
D played terrible in that there were tooo many odd man rushes. There were at least 3- 2 on 1s--- another 1 on 0 breakaway that resulted in a penalty shot. D got beat at the point in 2nd and 3rd periods religiously!
Forwards getting beat to the puck all over the offensive zone.
The power play has been NON existent for 3 games now- the puck was in our end for most of the power play!
Simply put BC was out coached-
why would you tire out your number 1 goal scorer to kill penalties-
BC better have a better game plan for playoffs and beanpot or they are not going far!

Re: Boston College Women's Hockey 2010-2011: Schaus In Da Haus

Not sure what game you're watching-
BC canNOT rely on Stack only- to put the puck in the net-
or they best not have her out there every other shift- and on PK
They cannot play with 2 lines--- SORRY-

BU rolled 3 lines and 6 D all game- BU had fresh legs in the 3rd and it showed!
BC DID NOT- and It showed
You cannot run 2 lines and 4 D at D1 if you want to win -
While BC had chances- they Did not finish off-
AGAIN BC powerplay - Not there-
BU was the better team tonight- BU was the better team last outing-
Bu will be the better team withut changes

Re: Boston College Women's Hockey 2010-2011: Schaus In Da Haus

i guess your summary is dependent upon which agenda you are attempting to support. if it was that bu won the game and finished the game stronger than bc, i'd have to agree. but your details are a bit misleading. bc did run three lines and occassionally double shifted the Stack line. The BC third line of Brown, Dougherty and Green created multiple opportunities, but to your point did not finish. Game was close right till the end. Both teams had limited chances in the third period, but BU clearly capitalized on their chances. BC, like many teams, runs just two power play lines. A bounce here and a bounce there was pretty much the difference in the game up until the empty netter with about a minute left. HE competition is good and these two teams will have ample opportunity to compete against one another at least one more time in the Beanpot. Will see about HE playoffs. Lots of great talent on the ice with mulitple Olympians on each squad. Appreciate your point of view, but think it is a bit unabalanced. Wish both teams the best of luck and if BC does not win the NCAA's this year, I'm hoping it will be BU.

Stack doesn't just kill penalties, she's out there to score.

Show me a college team that does not put a couple of their best forwards on the PK units.

Seriously, BU won a close game that went from 2-0 to 4-0 following an ENG.

Watched Bobby Carpenters daughter, Alex(At Govenors Academy) and BC is getting a 100% star. Amazing talent and athleticism.

You will be happy when she lands on campus, wow.....

seriously, non biased insight is appreciated once in a while. If you want to live in a glazed over fantasy world where BC is nothing but perfect, head over to the brown thread.

The fact that you are taking Westy's post as "unbiased" suggests that you aren't all about being impartial, but instead just like posts that rip on BC. I'm just sayin'.

Re: Boston College Women's Hockey 2010-2011: Schaus In Da Haus

Speaking of which, BC rebounded nicely against a pretty good ranked team today.

I think BC played better today- Still think their power play is struggling- Short handed goal by NU- Just sayin!
