Re: Boston College Offseason Thread: Basking in the glow.. again

Speaking of the MSU game USCHO had that MSU picture up for about 2 months afterwards on the top of the front page. The BC photo is already relegated after only 3 days. Last time BC won it did not last long either. What gives?

geez... think how happy hokydad is though right now.;)

Re: Boston College Offseason Thread: Basking in the glow.. again

The video from the parade was cool. Not to be picky, but wouldn't it have made more sense for Ben Smith to carry the Beanpot trophy and Matt Lombardi to carry the Hockey East Tournament trophy? After all he was the Hockey East tournament MVP.

Re: Boston College Offseason Thread: Basking in the glow.. again

I was responding to several things here, but somehow got magically logged out and my response disappeared. @#$%^

just to restate the obvious.... y'all knew you'd win because you won the beanpot, right??

;)

I knew from day 1, but the negative nellies get off fretting over every little thing :-).

Added the celebration gallery to the USCHO blog - http://www.uscho.com/blogs/frozen-f...-boston-college-championship-celebration.html

You can click on posts by author for more galleries from the tournament.

Did this count earlier - Shot 86 college games this year (so doesn't include WJC/pro) - a slightly smaller # than I expected. BC men took part in 34 of those games (plus an addt'l pair of practices & national championship celebration) while BC women took part in 12. That's 81% of the men's games and an embarrassing, guilt-inducing %age of the women's. 47% of the games did not include either BC team.

You can see all my galleries from this year here or just BC ones here

I look forward to watching the junior & sophomore classes besting the senior class by winning 3 trips to the F4 and the freshmen setting a tie-able only record of going and winning all 4 years. That's not too greedy, is it? :-)

It was strange - in 2008, I was checking off every superstition (hopefully I didn't offend Sneep's dad when we met a few weeks ago and I mentioned how I was 100% confident the second I saw him on crutches like Dolinar was) and still a bit nervous (also nervous on behalf of the team I wanted to win last year which I shouldn't discuss further in this thread), but this year, my nerves all seemed more connected to shooting the games as opposed to any worries that they wouldn't go my way (okay, I wanted RIT to win, but whatever). I mean I did my standard superstitions, but didn't add any. Hope you all were able to fully enjoy the win and I hope we never ever see the NCAA gimmick up a national championship again.

Re: Boston College Offseason Thread: Basking in the glow.. again

They're gonna be at the Sox game Thursday - lamely, the night of game 1 of the B's series. So I will pass on going to game 33 of a 559 game baseball season to watch the B's on TV, even though I would have loved to go to Fenway to see BC players throw the first pitch.

I would have rather seen them drop a ceremonial puck at the Bruins game -- a little more fitting, right? And maybe the Bruins can keep York on the bench, have him transfer a little of his obvious postseason genius.

I expected them to throw out a first pitch, but the puck drop would be a nice touch instead.

Re: Boston College Offseason Thread: Basking in the glow.. again

They'll do the first pitch and will probably make an appearance at the Bruins game during a tv timeout like they did in 2008.

If Gerbe is on the Sabres roster, it would be great to include him in a puck drop with the BC captains.

I don't know how much time he is going to be seeing as Hecht, Connolly and Stafford all practiced today after being out with injuries.

Why? Gerbe didn't have anything to do with this NC.

Re: Boston College Offseason Thread: Basking in the glow.. again

You guys know if anybody on BC going pro early? Please say Kreider and Atkinson :).

Not that it matters since Jerry seems to reload rather than rebuild.

BU's roster is looking pretty thin with C Cohen, Bonino, and Shattenkirk all jumping ship. Some good recruits coming in though.

You know...I root against BC b/c I'm a BU guy and make no apologies for that. BUT...as a huge fan of college hockey I'd be lying if I said that your program doesn't impress the hell out of me right now.

Last year when I bought my FF tickets off Craigslist, I've come to realize that I have more in common with hard core college hockey fans of any team than with most people, even some casual BU fans.

Last year I met a nice gentleman at a coffee shop who was selling the FF seats. At first he looked a tad tentative when he noticed I was wearing BU sweatshirt. I mentioned that I was a season ticket holder at Agganis and as it turned out he's a season ticket holder as well, only at Kelley Rink.

I ended up sitting a chatting with him for 1/2 hour over coffee and enjoyed the hockey conversation tremendously.

Not once did I yell "BC sucks" at him or did he chant "Safety School" at me. He even emailed me congratulations once the title had been won. Classy.

Since that day I remain a fiercely loyal and loud BU fan, and I try to keep it positive.

Sometimes I even try chatting up Maine, NU, UNH, and BC fans at Agganis. This often has mixed results.

I guess many of us are in the "silent majority" after all.

No, but if he's there, why not? He certainly had a lot to do with the one two years ago.

What a moron. Why Not ??? Seriously?? Maybe because he wasn't on the freaking team and is no more a part of this years championship then you are?? Maybe every BC alum available can go drop the fukking puck.....

I didn't say be the guy who is part of the face off, but a guy who is introduced and maybe drops the puck. Maybe Corey Latulippe can be ringmaster at the circus the next time the Elephants come back to Burlington.

Funny thing actually but elephants are banned from the State of Vermont. The esteemed Legislature actually introduced a law taking up that ban.....

And it still doesn't matter, why would they acknowledge Gerbe in anyway? That's just retarded...

I wonder if the sponsor graduated from BC:confused:

jcarter, do you have a favorite NHL team that we can make a "stay away" bet about? How about UVM women's lacrosse? Anything?
