Re: Boston College Offseason Thread: Basking in the glow.. again

At least that list puts Boston College in the right city. :p
And if you sort the list by name BU is on page 1 so ha to that too :D
(although right below BC)

Either way, that was an interesting spreadsheet to look at. Especially the graduation rates and Annualized net ROI. A lot of interesting information can be gleaned and thought about from it.

/all in good fun

Saw that USC has an ROI of 10.7 %. I have to think Reggie Bush did better than that his sophomore year alone. :)

Word on the street is that BC recruit Brendan Silk had a major injury and is out for 9 months. Will not be able to go to natl program and will set back development big time.

Re: Boston College Offseason Thread: Basking in the glow.. again

Sucks for Silk if true. Hopefully his recovery is quick and he can get back on the ice soon.

Normally, people would take a comment like that at face value. However, coming from you, your information is about as reliable as the BU offense last season. Come back to this when you have a confirmed report. If you think that's a bit harsh then oh well, I've seen too much "word on the street" reports from you that turned out to false.

if 99.9946% is not reliable, such is life

I will hold off on another tid bit of info that is in the brewing. Put it this way, BU will be happy, BC will be frowning. Hold tight

Hokeydad:

You are not God's gift to uscho posters. Your "inside info" does not make you cool, will not get you admired, and will not get you "chicks." Your dangling of incorrect information in front of our faces is puzzling on the one hand and makes you look like an attention-seeking toolbox on the other.

Please chop off your fingers with a circular saw and refrain from purchasing voice recognition software. If you really need the attention call up some daytime talk shows and tell then how you cut off your fingers with said circular saw. Maybe they'll give you some TV time.

From USHR: Silk Suffers Sliced Achilles Tendon
6'2", 165 lb. RC Brendan Silk, a Boston College recruit for the fall of '12, sliced his Achilles tendon during a skills session at a Boston-area rink last week, and faces at least six months of rehab.

Silk, a Wakefield, Mass. native who was a sophomore at Austin Prep last season, will undergo surgery tomorrow or Tuesday. Silk was due to join the NTDP next month, but will probably stay and do his rehab at home, where he has the support of his family and the Boston College coaching staff.

Reports are that Silk is pretty down right now. We'll check in with him after surgery, when his spirits are better and he has a stronger sense of what his rebab entails.

Re: Boston College Offseason Thread: Basking in the glow.. again

So, Silk was a soph. in HS last year? Other than the obvious concern for the guy to get well, what are we all worried about?

Re: Boston College Offseason Thread: Basking in the glow.. again

well other than hokydad saying the injury was an "acl" type injury, he was right that Silk was seriously injured. seeing as how he was correct about silk being injured, i am going to hope that his other "tidbit" of information about us that will make BU happy isn't so bad. gotta feel terrible for silk. a sliced achilles tendon sounds pretty miserable. i would be pretty down too.

OUCH! This hurts just thinking about it. The poor kid. Aren't skates built to protect this kind of injury?
