Boston College Hockey, Part II

Re: Boston College Hockey, Part II

I'm fairly certain that one loss won't knock NoDak out of 5th.

I'm fairly certain that they could end up 4th and we could drop, too. I dont know why people are afraid of North Dakota to be honest.

You guys give far too much credit to some of the these teams. You don't want to play Vermont, you don't want to play BU, you don't want to play UND, etc. Last I checked, we're going to have to beat a good team at some point. I think a lot of teams probably don't want anything to do with BC to be honest.

I second that opinion.

Re: Boston College Hockey, Part II

North Dakota just pantsed Minnesota last night in game one of a very hyped series. They definitely frighten me.

Let's see if BC looks a little less shaky tonight in front of Muse (presumably).

In a "neutral" ice setting, and at this point almost certainly Worcester, no one team frightens me. I'll take BC's chances in Worcester.

Now, last night...wow. A lot of things to clean up. Six goals is great, but giving UMass two unnecessary 5 on 3's in which they of course cashed in on...

Gibbons making a terrible decision leading to the 4th goal and then Milner botching the 5th...even after that UMass took it to BC for most of the 3rd period. This team seems to be lacking a killer instinct and the ability to really finish off big games.

At Denver, the UNH games at the Whitt, BU in the Beanpot, last night. Time will tell whether or not this is a fatal flaw, but it's definitely a problem.

I love how Jimmy Hayes has been playing, but last night may have been his worst of the season. Bad decision with the puck in the 3rd almost leading to a tying goal, multiple unnecessary icings...

Muse should be in net tonight. I just wanna see more attention to detail from everyone, play smarter. That's also been a concern of mine all year.

Re: Boston College Hockey, Part II

Oh ya, for a smaller guy, Atkinson can really rip the puck. Didn't see that much of it last year, but wow.

Re: Boston College Hockey, Part II

I love Krieder, scored a beauty after a nice set up by Muse last night, but I would like to see him do a little more than shoot the slapper when he comes down the left wing. A pass to the middle and then a cut to the center and Smith will set him up for a slot shot.

I know Muse is good, but how can he get an assist from the bench as a backup goalie? ;) I thought UNH's Darren Haydar was the only player who could score from the bench.

Re: Boston College Hockey, Part II

I don't see how Muse isn't starting the rest of the way after tonight.

he will be.............good come back last night, not nearly as many turnovers etc compared to friday night . still, they weren't all that great either but we got what we wanted and needed..... the win and a good game out of Muse

Re: Boston College Hockey, Part II

another sleepy post-win-post  for the BC thread...............we are too content:confused: , again

Re: Boston College Hockey, Part II

Didn't see this discussed yet, but the BC all-decade team:
Goalies:
Scott Clemmensen
Cory Schneider

Defensemen:
Brooks Orpik
Mike Mottau
Andrew Alberts
Rob Scuderi

Forwards:
Brian Gionta
Nathan Gerbe
Ben Eaves
Patrick Eaves
Brian Boyle
Ryan Shannon

Hard to argue with those, although I would have liked to see Allen on there (not sure who I'd bump, though) and maybe Chris Collins over Shannon.

Re: Boston College Hockey, Part II

good luck with uvm friday. i'm hoping we meet saturday where the boys should be motivated to play bc and extend the season.;)

i dont think chris collins one good season trumps ryan shannon's career but if u were to want to replace one of the forwards with another shannon would prolly be the one to go.... i would've liked to see bobby allen or peter harrold over andrew alberts tho.... i am glad scuderi finally got picked for a team he deserved to be on (olympic snub anyone???)
