Boston College Hockey, Part II

Re: Boston College Hockey, Part II

Smart move by NESN to choose BC-UNH for next Friday's televised game. I realize that the 'choice' was made before the season even started when most thought that the Hockey East season-title would come down to BC-UNH. And so it has.

Dave Hendrickson didn't think it would! He probably thought this game was going to be BC playing for their playoff lives. What a twit!

Anyway, these games are always great anyway and don't disappoint. So in a way, it was probably going on tv no matter when it was, it just happened to be the last weekend with the added bonus of possibly having playoff implications as it usually does.

blame Comcast for lateness, I do.

Don't forget - BC women take on BU at Walter Brown tomorrow at 3 pm - Hockey East quarterfinal (single elimination). Set your DVR and come cheer on the BC ladies.

Re: Boston College Hockey, Part II

****, NU coughs up two late third period leads and only grabs a point from UNH.

bottom line: can't worry about saturday unless you win friday. should be fun.

Re: Boston College Hockey, Part II

Uh, ya, you do.

I'm hoping things don't shake out to a BC/BU quarterfinal... not sure I could handle that.

As epic as it would be.

Re: Boston College Hockey, Part II

Not sure how many BC students are on USCHO (I'm guessing not many), but BC athletics has kindly agreed to temporarily set aside Section JJ as a mini-student section for Saturday's game - but you need to a) buy your tickets soon and b) identify yourself as a BC student when you buy the tickets.

Once they sell out the rest of the arena, they'll sell JJ to the rest of the public - so act fast and spread the word to your friends.

do we have to call to order these tickets or is it possible to get tickets in that section through the website?

Re: Boston College Hockey, Part II

Pretty sure you'd have to call and ID yourself as a student so they can specifically give you tickets in that section.

Re: Boston College Hockey, Part II

Thanks. I got a bunch of tickets. The guy on the phone seemed very enthusiastic. Weird. Not even sure if it's relevant to mention at all.

Hopefully it means he's been selling a good amount of tickets to students.........what i am looking forward to or expecting this weekend is for BC to come out friday , play hard and play well and let the chips fall where they may, then come back and do what they have done all year at conte and go into the HE tourney on a positive note and playing well for THAT is the trophy we really want..................for now:)

I feel just about the same, but...

What I am looking forward to and expecting is for BC to come out Friday and play hard, play well, take no prisoners and severely kick some UNH arse.
Repeat on Saturday... Regular Season Champions, and then go into the HE tourney on a positive note and playing well for THAT is the trophy we really want..................for now. :)

Anyone know if 2012 recruit Brendan Silk is related to 1980 Olympic player Dave Silk? If so, it's a nice steal from Parker.

It was originally reported that he was, but that isn't true. Brendan's grandfather is actually the Silk who has his basketball jersey retired at BC.

INCH has Cam Atkinson on it's "Big Board" of Hobey candidates, one of 4 highlighted as a "Big Board" member...............I think he's great but is he even the best player on the team?? can't wait to see him next year............you just knew from basically his first shift as a freshman that he had "it"......IMO

I agree that he shouldn't be considered a Hobey candidate, at least not this year. However, next year he should be an early front runner assuming his game continues to mature. A DIII coach told me when BC signed him, that he was the best prep school player this coach had seen play in 10 years. His best college playing days are ahead, that's for sure. (and exciting as a fan)

It's hard not to think BC has a realistic shot at sweeping UNH and winning the league title. It all comes down to tomorrow night. Nice to have these meaningful, pressure packed games before both tourney's.

Re: Boston College Hockey, Part II

I posted this on another thread, but was told it might get more attention here. It's about the Boston College recruits for this coming September. Someone gave me the link that shows who they are bringing in-- Cody Ferriero, Bill Arnold, Patrick Brown, Isaac MacLeod, Kevin Hayes, Brian Billett and Brad Barone. But how do these guys stack up to their competition? Are they dominating? Are they role players? High scorers? Anyone with any info would be helpful. Thank you.
