Re: Boston College Eagles 2011-2012 season thread

As I said on EO, typical Jeff Jackson NJ Devils hockey team, putting hockey back in the stone age one trap at a time.

That being said, brutal way to lose a game

True, but they're certainly good at it. And even then they outplayed BC for most of the 3rd period.

That was the best team BC has played this year and it was in a hostile environment. It stings right now, but that was a huge improvement from Sunday from a compete level standpoint. Don't think they deserved to win, but don't think they deserved to lose either. That game was fit for a tie. Milner had a great game, until...ya.

Gotta move forward. Build on this and realize if they compete like they did tonight, they'll be fine. Need a W at Yale.

Re: Boston College Eagles 2011-2012 season thread

That's a tough loss. Battled back to tie it after ND controlled play for much of the third, then we control play the last minute of OT, only to lose it on a last second shot. Ouch. Milner was stellar in net until that last high hard one.

They are obviously good at it and have been for several years.

Terrible way to lose but several positives.

Nice to see them absolutely grind out a late 3rd period even strength goal
PK was excellent after the BU coathanger special

Looking forward to the game at Yale

Re: Boston College Eagles 2011-2012 season thread

Don't have a great feeling going into tonight against a very good team (a team who always plays us tough) in their "dedication" game. Would sure be nice to spoil the party though...

In the end, I just wanna see how they compete in a tough environment.

check

We just got screwed harder than any time against BU in the Beanpot. I honestly cannot believe what I just saw.

it was ridiculous and right at the end of the period..............IMO, the biggest play/call of the game

Make up call for 2008?

but the 2008 thing was the correct call, this wasn't.......

for all of Milner's so called athleticism, why can't he catch? sorry, high hard one? you mean high EASY one....... don't mean to pile on him but come on!

Re: Boston College Eagles 2011-2012 season thread

Uh oh, BU beats terrible Vermont and we're back to BUSCHO on the front page!!!

There should have been a review on replay to make the right call. That should have been automatic but somehow the refs didn't do that for whatever reason. I would protest that game.

Re: Boston College Eagles 2011-2012 season thread

I think the announcers have surmised that on that 'no-goal' play, the goalie 'touched' the puck and, by so doing, negated what happened afterward.

Or something.

Well, if you noticed, it was something like 45 minutes before they gave the "official"explanation. In other words, they needed time to "make something up." Initial instincts are usually most telling. What was very evident here is that when Starman looked at the play he immediately said "That's a good goal." It was only after the NCAA "official" spoke with him and obviously warned him not to show up the officials that he came out with that "spin" about the goalie "touching" the puck. What was that about?? He knocked the puck down to his feet, played it with his stick through the crease and put a perfect feed onto his teammate's stick for a goal. Period. Not to mention the official's complete REFUSAL to look at a replay (especially considering that it was a nationally televised game - albeit it on tape delay - so considering it's college hockey only about 20 people probably saw it anyway) struck me as incredibly arrogant. Like, "who do you think you ARE challenging me? I don't make mistakes!" What a jerk - you could tell just by his demeanor that the ref took it personally. Easy to say you have to "move on," but they got screwed, because scoring a goal at the end of a period is a HUGE momentum changer. And how ironic that ND won the game the same way - on a goal at the end of the period!

Re: Boston College Eagles 2011-2012 season thread

because scoring a goal at the end of the second in THAT game would have been a HUGE momentum changer.

FYP......it's what i said ..............AND it was a great play , BC's best of the night . I don't understand why we didn't argue more vehemently not that it would have helped i guess

Re: Boston College Eagles 2011-2012 season thread

anyone notice that the ND student section pirated the "it's all your fault" chant? or did we pirate it?

Re: Boston College Eagles 2011-2012 season thread

BU was doing it 2 decades ago so I'm not sure where it came from.

maybe from BU?:confused: or is our preface to it original? i dunno, but i agree with the post a few days ago that all of the chants are pretty hard on the ears.

What a horrible, horrible way to lose. BC officially has a goaltending problem. To quote Peter Griffin upon seeing the chicken "oh, crap".

Re: Boston College Eagles 2011-2012 season thread

Harvard does it as well, and Cornell has been doing it for probably 20 years or so if not longer and as the legend goes Michigan borrowed most of their cheers from Cornell in the mid 90s.

I'm sure many schools have versions of it.

thanks, didnt know that.............i did attend a Harvard game a couple of years ago and didnt notice it. Since i started to go regularly 5 years ago ( including our away games)and i have not heard it except at Conte.................don't blame Sneddon for being irate at the no icing call at the end of your game last night and how did Trevino miss that open net a few seconds prior?

I was utterly shocked that they didn't call that...I would have been just as ****ed if I were in his shoes

Re: Boston College Eagles 2011-2012 season thread

Just went on a Google adventure to look up the origins of the "It's all your fault" chant. Couldn't find anything official, but from message boards and comment sections, I was able to gather that Cornell and BU both did it in the 70s. One comment mentioned that Cornell was doing it even earlier, in the 60s, so that was the earliest mention I found. No idea how accurate anything I found actually is.

there was a post on our thread a few years ago when BC students started doing it alluding to the fact that the students had a new chant, i guess the person meant the preface, not the chorus line if you will
